Ok is anyone else as disapointed in this game as i am once you get out of the prolouge? Hell that part was fun even with the lag but as soon as i get out of it and explore im being attacked by charcters 9 lvls ahread of me and being two shot killed multiple times after i spawn. How the hell am i surposed to complete with a guy with 40,000 hps when i have only 4000? Its just retarted it compleatly killed the fun for me. I can see allowing charcaters a few lvls ahead of me to engaged in pvp but 9 lvls? I am so outclassed with weapons and armor that i just cant compete. Also one other gripe there is no easy sortable list of targets that radiate out from by range. I mean wtf i should at least have a radar screen or said list. If wing commander can do it so many years ago it should have been simple as pie to put in this game.

@Chriskovo I'm with you, but I can't explain it.

I love Global Agenda, though it's not something I could play as a full-time MMO. Black Prophecy seems to follow the same lobby-based 3PS model, but I just can't catch the vibe.

Is it that the UT engine is more refined and intuitive in its control system?

I keep loading it up and trying it. I want to like it, but there's a lot of Weird to it still. Some nights game play is smooth as silk, other nights my ship is propelled by rubber bands. I'm getting the controls figured out but I thought it was hilarious that the 360 controller preset they provide didn't have a primary fire button mapped. I generally have to go play some Freelancer or Freespace 2 after a BP session just to re-enable my sanity circuit. I've probably got a few more tries in me before I throw in the towel. I'm either pretty patient or a glutton for punishment. Jury is still out.

That's great. When are they planning to bring their client installer forward into the 21st century?

@ApathyCurve No kidding! I was initially put off by it. I thought maybe I had to compile the game from scratch or something.

so ..the reward for winning is that your character becomes the preset (default) for the creation tool? So everyone with no imagination or desire to bother crafting a personal character is going to look just like you? um, yay? I try so hard for that NOT to happen, i can't imagine wanting that as a reward. How about some free cash shop items or playtime or something? Or hell, even a Razor mouse, or steel series pad or anything of actual value.

And yea i agree with the other guys, i keep trying to like this game, and i dunno, i just cant seem to get into it.

I decided to try this game out. I enjoyed Freelancer and would love a good Space Shooter.

The first day I tried it, I played for a couple hours, I got to lvl 3 on one character then got stuck on a loading screen. I logged out and in, it didn't help. I turned my computer off and on, still nothing. I started a new character since it didn't take that long to get to lvl 3. The same thing happened.

This is a new game so I just waited a few days until I saw there was a patch and sure enough I could play my characters again. I have played some more, very casually, I have now reached lvl 6 I have found some of the quests are still buggy but nothing that probably won't get fix in a future patch.

Now for the grind. lvl 6 up will determine if I stay with the game or not. I like the combat, I am sure more content will be added after they are finished with the bugs that happen with every new game. But will it be an enjoyable ride. That is still to be determined.

I too want to like this game. And the BIG bug I found that actually stopped me from being able to play the game was fixed relatively quickly. Now if they keep after the little quest bugs and keep plugging away with new content, I hope it will live up to my expectations. And unlike Jumpgate: Evolution, at least this game actually came out.
