Forochel, Yule Festival town and Thorin's Gate all in Lotro, you can feel the cold.

Realm of the Fae in Rift has an awesome snowy part of its instance. I love the blizzard effect and field of view.

@redsolar

Yeah I was amazed when I hit that part of the instance. It actually feels like a snowy area, so very cool.

Dragonfang Ridge in Runes of Magic. Because there aren't many players here anymore, the zone has a very lonely feel to it, like it's the roof of the world. It has lots of unique races and areas to explore that give it a very unique feeling.

I'd like to throw a vote out for an underdog: Zul'Drak.

IPP is beautiful. And very true to winter, because it's... dirty. It's gorgeous, and realistic, just not so fresh to me.

But (the snowy parts of) Zul'Drak really chill me when I see them. It also progresses from mildly snow covered to fully snow covered, giving a nice sense of growing doom. The blues, purples, and greys are great. The atmoshphere is cold, but still peaceful and beautiful, as opposed to the overbearing "lost in snowdrifts orders of magnitude larger than myself" feeling one might get in, say, those mountains to the north.

Another vote for IPP. I don't even like snowy zones in general but I love IPP. Probably my favorite zone in the game.

I'm suprised no one has mentioned the Storm Peaks from Northrend. Epic zone if you ask me.

Honorable mentions would be Iron Pine Peak and Xarcabard

I loved the hell out of yggdra forest in daoc, old frontiers. Was a long ass run from hibernia to the mid gates, but I would spend hours at a time ganking there.

Iron Pine Peak is my new favorite, its brilliantly designed and the first game where I actually felt *cold* playing in a snow covered zone. The swirling snow drift effects are fantastic. As for Realm of the Fae...the winter peak in that dungeon is the first game where I got LOST in a snowstorm. Fantastic.

Honorable mentions to Winterspring (pre-Cataclysm), and Ered Luin in LOTRO. Ered Luin's music is particularly epic.

Velious from original EQ (at launch, I have no idea what it look like now). For some reason it just felt 'cold' to me.

While I am currently a Rift'er and love Iron Pine Peaks, I am also a long time Final Fantasy XI vet and will have to vote for Beaucedine Glacier. Was one of my favorite zones in that game from the 1st time i went there.
