Oh does "High-quality Collector's Edition box" means that my cat can sleep inside and the box will still last some good weeks?

Seems like a lot of good stuff to BIG fans and collectors, not my case.

@Rayne26

I feel for you.

Conversely, I CAN buy it, but I have no desire to.

I don't collect stuff...but if I did and wanted to resell it, wouldn't it be unopened and unused? Seems a silly idea, but people willing to pay $150 wouldn't think twice about dropping $60 to buy a standard I guess...

I'm probably gonna do it. I've never bought a CE before so it's definitely a luxury purchase. I don't care; I don't want to be the fan who shows up without a STAP and a spunky mouse droid. Although if there's a digital deluxe edition with just the in-game stuff, I'll buy that instead, probably.

When it comes to video games, I'm a consumer whore. I won't pretend otherwise or stamp my feet over principle (unless they jack up prices on standard editions of games). I just pay the money and make up for it by spending less on other things. Gaming is, after all, a luxury.

Awesome. I will be buying this when they put the pre-order back up. I hope it is available on Amazon.com though, not a fan of gamestop.

I'm PRAYING they have another CE that has all the stuff in box and in-game items, just not the statue. Or smater...

No statue and HALF of the in-game items. Sell it for $75-$80 bucks and a TON of people will be pre-ordering.

Only the hardcore NON-SWG fanboy mmo gamers will be buying it and considering the majority(suprising, i know) of mmo players actually have LIVES and dont spend 100+ hrs a week playing mmos, a lower price is smart.

I love collector editions, but not if its going to force me to get some crap statue that i dont want for an extra $75. WOW Biomare, im saddened

Digital Edition CE through EA's Origin Store costs $80.

You don't get the physical stuff or the Mouse Droid or access to the in-game vendor.

Still, 5 out of 7 in-game items is not bad for the price, plus the 6 day head-start (if rumors are true).

To those above....

NEVER listen to "negative rumors" or ANY comments actually. Its all OPINION from players that are horribly, biased, ignorant and unbelievably SPOILED. WHen someone plays mmos for 5+ years and plays 100 hrs a week, 15 hrs a day, they get MMO BURNOUT and instead of taking a break and actually having a LIFE or any real social interaction, they whine and cry on forums and blog sites. LOL

ALWAYS try games out for urself. If we listened to Siskel and Ebert back in the day, most of us would have only seen about 10% of our favorite movies today! But we didnt listen to them and they are actual critics, not some whiney burnt out troll living in mommies basement.

SWTOR will be amazing, because its original, in a SW time that doesnt get much exposure at all, and (im hoping) the devs are actually going to PROMOTE IT TO NON GAMERS (unlike other mmos) so that more than just current mmo players will find out about it and play it. Which means, NEW PLAYERS who arent going to cry and rip every little detail apart because its different than their fav 20hr a day mmo.

Also, because its not the "typically known" star wars timeline, theres a huge chance for people who arent into star wars to play, because they only know the future timeline.

Prediction : 2 Million subs by the end of the third month , then about 500 thousand will quit after 6 mos(because they level rush and dont understand what an mmo RPG is - good! we dont want them anyways), then another million or so will pick up game over next year, so 2.5 million subs that stay with game after 1.5 years total

And this is HOPING that the majority of players are Star Wars fans who dont play mmos, people new to mmos in general who dont know much about star wars, and the REAL mmo players who have been looking foward to SWTOR and arent doing to ABUSE the games systems just to run around with a little # next to their ridiculously sounding epeener name.

Cheers!

So ignore anything you don't agree with so you can live in La La Land? It's not all sunshine and roses, deal with it. Generalizing people in your narrow definition doesn't help either.

And yes, SWTOR may turn out to be amazing, I sure hope so. But people do care about price and business practices of the developers and publishers. And what's with calling out "REAL mmo players"? That's stupid. If you play an MMO, you're a real life MMO player, simple as that, nothing more.

Lastly, your spotty capitalization of words is obnoxious, stop it.

$150 WTF, and then you have to pay like $15 a month on top of it. This game is much like RIFT in that it is slightly different to WoW, but essentially pretty much the same old. So many people are gonna buy the box and then quit playing, this is such a cash grab.

If I have the money at the time Ill get this...but if they offer a digital for cheaper Ill go for that. Im not rich at all but am jacked for this game and like the sound of a lot of these bonuses. Not a total Star Wars geek tho so could live without the statue....

$70-$90, in my experience with other games. Woof, $150 just seems like a lot but granted they offering quite a few perks.

I bought mines of moria CE for $15 once as stocking stuffers.
However yeah not so sure $150 for a CE will work as that is almost a years subscription fee.
