@Alamar01

How is the special vendor "WoW-like?" Or the lightsaber color-change crystal? That one actually has a basis in the game's lore.

Right because color stones and (what will probably be) a vanity item vendor will make it a WoW clone. It comments like this that have devalued that term to the point of meaninglessness.

Actually, the culprit in this matter is more likely EA than Bioware. Ever since Bioware got bought out, there's been lots of things "Bioware wold never do" under EA's watch.

Meh $150 is nuts. I want a digital collector's edition, maybe it'll be cheaper without a star wars doll.

@wfseg

Hopefully. I'd pop for just the digital perks too for about $80.

@C Rose

Yeah, I've always been more about the digital in-game perks for a digital game.

If I want physical stuff, I tend to buy it separately. I don't really buy statues, but that means I never will; but I am more a toy or action fig fan: has to move.

Unless this comes with a coupon for a "happy ending" massage, I think you're out of your mind paying this much just for the right to subscribe to a video game.

But then again, I've never been very passionate about any IP like Star Wars fans are about their Star Wars. Then again, if I was the one who was trying to make money off of a sanity-deprived fanbase, I'd milk the maroons for as much as I could get out of 'em as well.

Three cheers for free enterprise, and a hearty guffaw for those who buy this.

@PhelimReagh

You're not paying 150 bucks to subscribe. You're paying 100 bucks for a bunch of exclusive stuff that may or may not be worth it to you.

Safe to say that most people who buy it are more worried about being bored than paying the bills. Obviously it's not a good deal for most people.

Between this and the EVE monocle, Western gamers pay more for cash-shop goods than anyone else in the world.

Cash shop?

I thought we were talking about a pre-order box.

Also: is it really quip-worthy that the hemisphere with more disposable income spends more?

@Dril Yeh, essentially this is just a different delivery option than having it paid for in game. Cash shop, digital goods, etc...whatever we want to call it it's all the same.

We've been cash-shopping it up since the first extra character slot. :)

That's irritating. Hope they'll have a digital Collector's Edition at a cheaper price, since I don't care that much about the physical stuff.

Screw any game that costs as a collectors as much as a wii or xbox. ITS NUTS I TELL YOU. It was only a year ago collectors were 10 or 20 more in most currencies heck I remember some only being 5 more a year ago. This is unbelievable.

Wait wait wait, what happened to the authenticator? The Polish version was supposed to come with an authenticator...

Was that removed to lower the price? Is it coming in a separate edition? Is it going to be sold separately?

I've got a bad feeling about this...

@stealthrider

There would be no point at all to having authenticators if they AREN'T sold separately. The CE one just has fancy art on it.

The news post says "according to rumor" so it seems likely that the now-removed Gamestop page didn't actually list the contents and the author forgot about the authenticator when he was listing what the Polish version reportedly contained.

If it was any other character statue I might be interested, give me a smuggler or the class I'll probably be playing, agent.

Doesn't seem too bad in value, for that price, I've seen CEs close to that amount so this doesn't surprise me at all. I'll be getting the game only and not the CE for swtor seeing as I'm not that hyped up about it.
