Even I can't imagine some one stripping off their avatar's clothes and dancing on a mailbox in EvE. That kinda thing wouldn't be tolerated and probably will get you "marked", or am I wrong?

@Space Cobra

I think the current character outfitting system requires you to have some clothes put on before finalizing your character.

@Space Cobra
Maybe you should just leave Amarr or Caldari space then =)
Those guys are the spoil sports of the cluster.

Just go to 'dixie and watch the easy Gallente strip and dance xD

Despite some people's beliefs, there can be a way to implement emotes without breaking immersion... the question is, of course and always, is CCP able to do that.

I would be happy to see missile launchers to receive some love like turrets. And CQ environment is embarrassingly unoptimized given the engine being so new and flashy. Hopefully those problems can be fixed when the next patch comes around...

Why not dancing in stations, at least in Gallente ones?

After all the Gallente are the hedonistic guys in the cluster.
It was a sad day the stations sporting the Pleasure Hubs went away with a graphics update patch ;-)

If it's such a trouble for some why-so-serious? guys create dance floors in gallente and perhaps matari stations bars or clubs and limit dancing to those places.

They should turn o7 and o/ into actual emotes.

All I want is nightclubs and dancing in said clubs...

Since it's space and it's always night, assuming the station isn't set up next to a star, then the club will always have to be open which means the party don't stop...ever...

I would support dancing in clubs. But I want to see a taylor class first.

It's really a shame what they're planning to do to this game.

Smells like CCP PR to me. CQ suck and removed the functionality of the old docking bay, the Door is a giant finger to anyone who disables CQ (everyone I know did within minutes), the new turrets are only visible if you zoom in so far your ship takes up the entire window, and the new turret icons are a joke - muddy blobs impossible to differentiate. Yet none of that is mentioned at all.

To be honest I don't get CCP... I dunno about others, but when I first registered for Eve online many years ago, it was for the space ships. I've played Eve online for 4 years, and I never heard a complaint that you needed to see your avatar. You'd hear the few suggestions here and there that it would be nice to have the ability to see yourself inside your ship, but they were suggestions, not hugely requested features.

Then they come up with something that basically killed a part of what I liked to the game. I find myself double clicking the center of the screen times and times again when I wanna see what's inside my current ship or if I want to check how many drones I got. I mean, that's what this game has always been about to many players and I, space ships. I mean think about it, when you did you have the time to admire your space ships? In the heat of battle when you're managing tons of things at a time while watching local so that pirates don't pop out? While plotting your course to your next destination?

Anyway, this looks like another eve-gate to me, where majority of hte players logged into eve-gate to disable themselves from the feature and then logged out.

If we had the ability to use the old hangars, how many people do you think would be using the CQ right now? In a month once the novelty is gone?

Finally, I do think that the CQ feature is nice, if you had the choice to go from the hangar to the CQ at a station. I think this feature would be awesome for corp meetings or for killing time when you're not in the mood to fly around, but it shouldn't be getting in the way of normal gameplay.

@Icemasta

CCP seem to have a plan that essentially counts on people like yourself to just ignore and accept their diversification from just eve / spaceships to an FPS, Strategy / Space Sim, and other mmo genres.

Its actually quite sad to watch all you eve (HC none avatar friendly) players getting burned but i want WODO so much i just sit on massively and accept my part in it.

I wonder if enough of you disable the avatars where CCP would just give up on abusing the eve dev budget to test their other mmo out?

"truly revolutionary" ??? are you kidding?

Eve is a sandbox. A neglected sandbox. A cash cow for which CCP does very, very little.

CCP made a room, a friggin room. ONE room where you can stand around and look at yourself using a very, very limited clothing selection.

Relative to other games, putting this in perspective, this is the exactly opposite of 'truly revolutionary".

Only someone drinking the Koolaid could call this truely revolutionary.

"Emotes will be eventually added, but they will have "meaning" behind them."

Yeah, because they are going to cost IRL Cash.

CCP has it in their head that the only way they can get players to value their game, their efforts, is if they charge a lot of money for items. They have outright said things are only meaningful, good, if they cost a lot of money. And so they are going to make the items in EVE cost a lot of IRL money.

So, they take a turd, and sell it for $80 bucks. And since it cost $80 it has value now and is cool, and you should want a turd too, because youre not really buying a turd, your INVESTING in aromatic eve essence.

Do they really think their established playerbase is going to drop mad coin on Dress up doll barbies and emotes? Serious?

I can see it now.

/spit-on-face - $99

/throw-temper-tantrum - $109

/swear-vulgarities - ON SALE! $129.99

Its so funny watching the various dev houses tear their games to pieces trying to grab at money. they see all that money WoW brought in and they start thinking "OMFG, im an mmo developer too, i want kabillion dollars too...."

And they start destroying their games trying to find some way of taking more money from their loyal customers.

Despite the foulness that is a significant portion of the playerbase, they are loyal. They have stuck with CCP through a lot of crap. And in all.... ALL ACTUALITY, they ARE Eve. Eve is NOTHING without the established playerbase.....

Yet it is that very same playerbase, the one that has given CCP everything they have... that CCP just craps on. Like spit in the face, smeared on the upper lip, enron, rupert murdoch'd.

They promised, less than a year ago "NO MT ever".

They just added MT to their game. Added MT whilst swearing "NO Gold Ammo, on Tuesdays, when the moon is waxing, and squares are round... WE PROMISE!"

Hubris and Arrogance fall terribly short of describing the atmosphere at CCP.
