Life in Hack-n-Slashville too slow for you these days? Well buckle up and keep your arms and legs inside of Mythos at all times -- the game is set to get a tad faster.
An upcoming content update for Mythos is set to include a new feature that encourages players to cut their way through dungeons at a record pace. Using the Dungeon Master feature, adventurers who beat dungeons and accomplish other challenges under a set time limit will be showered with gifts and glory.
If you choose to play in this mode, a timer will start the second you enter a dungeon and will go until you vanquish every foe in the place. If you make a new record or beat an old one -- you'll be competing against other players in this -- you'll get a nice package of rewards including in-game currency and rare items.
The update is set to increase the level cap and add more PvP content as well.

Doesn't that basically encourage people to find out ways to avoid the content, avoid any story, and avoid any immersion?
If you tell me to get through a dungeon as quick as I can I'm going to find out every last creature in the dungeon I can avoid and still win. It won't be nearly as fun as clearing out a dungeon, but I will have been fast.
Just seems like a silly thing to encourage to me.

@SnarlingWolf If you think about it this is the norm for most mmos. In all the mmos I've played pugs just rush through instances as fast as possible just to be done with them and get their daily tokens from it. I find that if you want immersion and storytelling in your mmo experience, do it with friends or solo.

Yeap, agreed.
Most people scout out the dungeon solo, learn all the nooks and crannies, then they go at it daily...if there are dailies associated with it.

Have you played this game...?
Once you've done the mission this opens up. So you've already played through the story and now are just competing for time taken. Also, the game is heavy on the hack n'slash (i.e., there isn't much immersion in the first place.)

I think having this as an OPTION is great. Give folks who have run it several times a reason to go back in.
Good for them.
