Basically Titan's going to Blizzard's attempt to bring back my self and my fellow Wrath Babies. Better blow Rift out of the water, because Blizzard burned their bridge when they released Cata as far as I'm concerned.

@(Unverified) Not sure what you think has changed, but WoW caters to entitled casuals more now than it ever did, even in Wrath.

Anyway, to me, "casual games" means Popcap, Zynga etc, although "financial analyst" also means "unlikely to know anything more about Titan than the rest of us"

However, it certainly seems likely that Blizzard would be going for the Zynga crowd, although I don't see how "FPS" fits into that concept.

@Styrium

surely they are just going to go with a MMO that doesn't rely on entitled babies. Who want to raid 5 nights a week for the 0.2% drop

If they spread the sub over more than just end game raids which most of the casual market don't give a crap about they would probably appeal to more players.

as it stands any new player has to get through 60+ level of crap before they even start to get to the populated areas.

and when they do theres either the fanatical raiders and not much else

I seriously doubt Blizzard can do anything to stop the freight Train that will be TOR, it appears that they have found the perfect balance They have end games for Raiders and Non-raiders and the PVP is a revolution, the first PVP game I have ever seen where Carebears want to play.

TOR is the next big thing

@Dunraven Which means TOR is the next thing to have people crying on the release date about unimplemented features, bugs, and exploits? With people swearing they aren't going to renew after 30 days and will play some console game until Secret World(?) comes out or until TOR goes free to play (which they will predict will happen in a matter of months)?

@Calfis No even a PVP player but God I love PVP in TOR , but I will say since it is so popular with the non-pvp crowd the hardcores are having a fit. go figure.

@Buckwald As some one who has more experience fighting against AI with with set patterns over completely unpredictable REAL humans, yes PvP is indeed harder. But only mildy harder than Dungeons or Raids.

Sadly everyone in the BGs I've ever joined don't work together. IMO PvP requires a decent amount of teamwork or at least organizing. People seem to me more interested in getting honor kills without risking getting ganked.

Rift is dying, it just took longer than everyone thought but the proof is there

been popping fast more negatives than positives.

So what you're saying is that last week, roughly 5 or so days ago, people logged in less. I wonder why that would be.

Don't even like Rift and I'm tired of this flippantry.

@Typhron Looking at the monthly charts for each shard, it does look like most of the trendlines are going the wrong way. Though some seem to be picking up population in the last couple of weeks. Is some of it player migration from lower pop servers to medium pop servers?

Was really pointing out the whole holiday thing, but that is also a good point. how do you get reliable numbers when people are free to move as they please?

Either way, Arryn11's measuring stick needs a bit of tweaking and should be treated as such.

You obviously didn't look at the entire website, lol.

http://www.riftstatus.net/shards/na

click that link and you'll see the HUGE gaps in player base in the past 30 days. You can highlight specific dates that aren't holidays if it makes you feel better.

http://www.riftstatus.net/shards/na/trends

This shows the low que trends.

I hate to spell it out for you when you could have just taken 10 min and looked at the whole website, lol. Also the servers that do have population growths aren't even the highest pop servers. Take all the server pops and factor in the trend. Rift has had substantial server drops.
