It's time for another major event in Guild Wars, one that's been heavily anticipated by the players -- the next installment in Guild Wars Beyond, centering around the lands of Cantha. There are changes afoot for the land, as evidenced by the title of the new multi-part event, Winds of Change. And if you want to start taking part in the history that will shape Guild Wars 2, now is a fine time to see what those winds are bringing.
Players can start their newest adventure by speaking with Initiate Zei Ri at Kaineng Center, setting them down the road following the events of Guild Wars Factions. (Needless to say, you have to have finished Factions to take part in the new missions.) As was the case for the previous installment, the update brings with it new costumes for players to purchase so that the battle for Cantha's future can be done in style. Guild Wars players should get to work seeing all that the update has to offer, because the change starts now... and who knows how much will be different when all is said and done.

Factions was actually my least favourite, and a bitch to complete. I'll probably give this a go though.

Okay Guild Wars, I got it, don't need to twist my arm! I'll catch up with this extra content right away...!
On a more serious note, any ideas on what the rewards are? I see the wiki has a new set of "tokens" or whatever you'd like to call them to turn in, but nothing about what they can be traded in for...

Is it just me, or am I the only one wanting to get into the storyline not caring about rewards and such? First time I've considered the story alone as enough motivation for content.

You aren't the only one. I was just curious because it seems odd the trophies are listed, but not the items they could be redeemed for. I lurv me some good story.
I will admit though, I also love anything that makes filling out my Hall of Monuments easier! =P

Factions had the worst story among the Guild Wars pack. I find it difficult to care about Master Togo, Shiro or the childish squabbling between the Kurzicks and Luxons. The setting had promise, but potential was all it had.
In terms of story, plot and characters, Prophecy was much better.

@Jade Effect I have to agree with you there on the storyline, I did love the setting, a lot of the areas were breathtaking. But the Kurzick and Luxons really IMO fit well. The Kurzicks especially, I don't see having Germanic themed characters in an asian setting make sense at all.

Neither the Luxons or the Kurzicks fit into the theme of the campaign, but in terms of their effect on the overall lore I think they're really cool. Because they're ethnically distinct from the Canthan majority and nobody knows where they first emigrated from, they add some depth to human history (as well as interesting potential plot hooks for other continents in GW2).

@Puremallace Obvious troll is obvious.
Trying to clarify things for those who don't already know, yes, you can buy ALL the skills from the game instead of earning them the hard way, BUT that doesn't mean you are "buying" an advantage, you still need to know how to use those skills and when, just as if you'd buy an entire set of cards for Magic, it won't matter at all if you don't know how to use them.
On topic: Damn, now I seriously need to finish Factions and this is the perfect oportunity. I wonder if they're going to add extra content for Nightfall, I'd love to return to Elona to do some new quests.

They have said they would "like to take GWB to Elona and continue Palawa Joko's story in the future, however there are no firm plans to do so." - http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guild_Wars_Beyond

@Puremallace If you would just do some research into Guild Wars, its payment model and its cash shop before spewing your nonsensical verbal diarrhoea.
Of course that would mean removing your lips from Scott Hartman's backside long enough to actually buy the cheap-as-hell GW campaigns. Hartman would be relieved though. He hasn't been able to sit during meetings in months.
