@aaradun No it isn't. It just adds more of the global population to Eve which we already have. As a US player the Russians are fun to play against and have added a lot to the Corp Wars. So will Japan.

Yay, I can't wait for 10 more years of these comments. Yes, we all know CCP f'd up, but please don't turn the comment section into a bunch of "doom and gloom." We see it with darn near every WoW story and that got old fast.

Eve in Japanese?? and why not in Spanish????? we are many users from Spain and from central and surth america, playing from 2003/2004 and we had to learn English "not me" but very many Spanish-speaking users, had many problems to play, we made thousands of requests in the forum for a client in Spanish and CCP as ever, leaves out minorities .. ...... this way, customers are lost easily

@Devylman The same reason it's not in French or Italian. They haven't reached that point yet.

Lots of MMO customers is China, Japan, Europe and the US. Not as much in South America, Africa and the Middle East so English is used as a medium language for such places as it's such a well known language globally.

For all their faults, even CCP can figure out playerbase demographics and language, either by checking OS language or through surveys. This is why they have Russian and German language clients. It takes a lot of continued money, time, and effort to produce localized clients for games, and they have apparently determined either that the Spanish-speaking population is not large enough, or their localization team it too busy to make a Spanish client at this time.

Even if that means lost subscribers, it's still very possible that they would lose more money making a Spanish client.

@Devylman I lived in Madrid and never did I ever hear anyone in Spain refer to themselves as a minority.

While it's not to say that the Spanish gaming community isn't...significant. It just doesn't hold the same weight as say the Russian or Japanese gaming market. Of course they'd go there first.

I honestly laughed out loud when I read the headline.

Nexon is probably the worst free to play company in terms of a company that milks the **** out of its player base. And at least in the US, their customer service is nonexistent on at least some of their games.

No, I played Mabinogi with RL friends off and on, tried out Dungeon Fighter Online and played that for awhile, and played Vindictus a bit. Their cash shop stuff is ridiculous and they basically force it down your throat.

Maybe your argument would be more popular if you could take the time and proof-read your comments.

Hmmm, let's do some adding up as to why this is being done now and not in the past....

CCP has a new EVE cash shop called NeX.

Asian markets love cash shops!

Now I get it CCP! Genius!!

As far as EVE is concerned, they're just a publisher that knows the region, they're not doing any work on the game itself or changing its payment model. It's like how LotRO and DDO were both run by Codemasters in Europe until relatively recently.
