@Tempes Magus All they did was change the name. The power is still there.

Unless you're in closed beta, you don't *know* what this power does. I assume it does what it used to, plus the taunt aura and scaling recharge buff.

You obviously assume differently.

You must confuse that power with something else. "Entropy Shield" offers status protection and defense debuff resistance. No defense at all.
Kinetic Shield, Power Shield and Energy Cloak are EA's defense toggle powers.

Obviously they cannot remove status protection from a "tank" class (the brute in this case). So all they did is the name change and granting the power a taunt aura. That's a nice buff !

BTW, hurray for my upcoming FF/Fire defender :)

Keep reading, they turned Energy Drain into a power similar to Ice's Energy Absorption (minus the end recovery), then moved the Heal from Energy Drain to Conserve Power, which is now called Energize. I'm sure it will all work out in the end.

Why would they further weak /Energy Aura? It's already a joke compared to other defensive sets. What you're assuming makes zero sense.

so on the topic of energy aura I read -

"Repulse for Stalkers has been replaced by Disrupt, a stun aura."

does this mean that Repulse is being replaced and changed for Stalkers and Scrappers, or will stalkers still be stuck with the useless repulse power and scrappers get the much better version with a stun aura?
I hope stalkers get the same power as scrappers, i want to make an energy aura stalker, but that repulse power....well repulses me from the set lol

It's likely that scrappers get the brute version of energy aura, which doesn't have Repulse.

@Tempes Magus There's nothing obvious about that. You're just jumping to a wild conclusion based on a preview page. This is how "Doom!" posts in MMO forums get started.

The status protection will be exactly where is it now, just with a new name. Plus a taunt aura plus free +recharge. Plus a nice self heal in Energize.

Energy Aura received a lot of love there.

About de-toggling a brute / tanker / scrapper with running status protection ?
Unless your name is Ghost Widow or Romulus I'd say : not likely.

But if you somehow manage to eat enough simultaneous sleeps/holds/stuns, there is this little bit from the Issue 13 patch notes to save your behind :

"All Player defensive Toggle Powers should now "suppress" when you are Held, Stunned or Slept instead of shutting off. The toggles have limited or no functionality when in this state. If you are held while flying, for instance, if the power which held you does not also have a -Fly function, you will remain in the air. Status protection powers still provide Hold, Sleep and Stun protection, even while other defenses are suppressed."

Finally, in regard to taunt auras : that's why scrappers have a lower taunt magnitude than brutes or tankers. Take a look at the various versions of Against All Odds or Invincibilty for yourself ! (yes, the Willpower tanker gets shafted, but that doesn't matter with Gauntlet)

So, run your taunt aura and enjoy those benefits !
