I love the "3 Million registered users" comment. It is refreshing to know the folks reading Massively know the deal. (Big laugh)

@Sharuk
that doesn't mean squat... Warhammer Online has over 1 million registered users as well ;) WoW probably has something like 20 million registered users... if that's enough.

@Sharuk It is when only a handful of those users are actually playing the game. I'm one of those who registered, played for an hour, and left to never come back.

I've really been enjoying the game. If you like space shooters, this is one to try out.

The good:
*True F2P. Nothing is denied you in the game so long as you're willing to grind for it.

*The graphics are the best you'll currently see in any browser game, and look better than some client games.

*The music! It's right out of the show.

*The sound effects. They're all consistent with the show. Space even has the same ambient sound as it does on the show.

*Free players have a fighting chance to win, and with good builds and skill can even beat paid players. Especially in fleet battles.

*Large scale fleet battles are so much fun!

The not so good:
*Most people roll Colonial, so Cylons are outnumbered on most servers. I think a two faction system is inherently flawed in this way, and will be incredibly difficult to balance in the long run. The game on each server will probably "end" in the same way: with one side, usually Colonials, chasing all the opposition off the server, effectively "killing" the game on that server. If you join the game, please roll Cylon to help out.

*Intra-faction mine competition. A lot of ill will and degradation of community happens as the result of members of your own faction working against you in the game's large-scale resource mining. When the opposition does it, that's the game. When your own faction does it, that's a problem. Community degradation can kill an MMO. One reason I shy away from most PvP centric MMOs is because they rarely have anything resembling a good community. Here's hoping Bigpoint works to correct this somehow.

*The music is great, but there needs to be more of it.
