@ThePenIsMightier Refuge of the idiot troll. Pretend he was in beta to give his incoherent ramblings some semblance of being based in reality.

While he is indeed trolling, you gotta at least admit they've done nothing so far to suggest robust costumization options at all. You're assuming they are going to provide enough options to be unique, and thats all well and good...

But theirs been no release with a video from bioware where they pump peoples abilities to express themselves prove through screenshots or videos theirs varied gear choices.

@ThePenIsMightier There are six armor sets in the video, not five. There are already many more than that in the game, and I imagine there'll be even more for launch. It's quite clearly an open world game with a lot of group content - that's been shown time and time again.

I'm not saying TOR will be any good, I'm just saying that you're mistaken on all counts.

No, the "group" content is casual solo friendly, it's heavily phased, and just the on rails shooter segment should be enough for you to retract the "open world" idea.

@ThePenIsMightier Well, now I know you're talking shit. You want to say a game isn't open world based on a minigame? Really?

Nice try though. Well, not really.

Those dodging animations (@1:17 mark) are by far the best I've seen in any MMO to date

@Vgk Yeah, especially the bit where the BH shoots at the ground infront of them and they just drop dead for some reason

Couple of things still annoy me about the bounty hunter. I don't think the name Powertech will ever sit right with me and I don't like the fact that the Mercenary is forced to dual-wield pistols - looks fine on the Smuggler, but with the heavy armour of the BH it just kind of looks off to me.

Those are just niggles though, I'm really starting to like the aesthetics overall and I'm impressed with how far they've come. This just isn't a class that interests me much.

@JohnLane if your going to try saying your game will be better than X game in Y aspect it would help if you spelled words like "yes" and "the" correctly.
Providing some semblance proof and not coming on as a complete fanboy would also help.

Positive: When you hit something with a laser or missile, the effect looks like it's actually hitting the target.

Negative: There "here I am, shoot me!" tactics. Standing out in the open, or flying up in the air, guns blazing but not in any sort of cover. At least the Merc had a shield at one point. I know this is par for the course for MMOs, but it still bothers me.

I'm glad the Smuggler and Operative have a cover mechanic, at least. I wonder if they could extend that to other classes to some degree...

@JonBuck

Even if the lasers have to arc to hit the target? (1:55)

@Fynn I didn't notice that. But I don't think it's uncommon in MMOs because of the way hits are calculated in the code. In City of Heroes my Blaster would fire at the bad guys and the beams would follow them around corners.

I like how everything in SWTOR is made of cortosis so lightsabers are no worse than a normal sword.

@Lucidus If there's one thing I've learned from playing their games, it's that BioWare loves cortosis everything.

If only that Gamorrean were a playable option, I'd buy it the day the game launches.

And I would call dibs on the name, "Link Hogthrob."

Is it an actual feature of TOR that in order to execute an attack, you need to stand in place, or does Bioware just do that in order to make the game look lame for some reason?

Whenever I watch a SWTOR video, I just picture icons waiting to lite up when they come off the GCD. WoW in space indeed.

No you can move while fighting with the exception of certain abilities. Or rather, when I played the Assassin at E3 I was constantly on the move.

@hereafter Well that's good news. Most of the previews make it look like the game involves a lot of standing around in combat.
