gonna need a little more detailed explanation than that ... I name of a class and a list of skills ... that is not much real information. I am interested in this game, but they gotta come with the in depth if they are going to hook me in this loaded (upcoming) market.

@Mikkhail

Visit their website for a complete overview of classes, including a list of class ability names.

P.S. Not true. The six classes are semi-mirrored, in that there is an assassin in each faction, a tank, etc, and each archetype shares some basic abilities - but each has abilities that its counterpart does not.

;)

More information about the system is here: http://forums.primeonline.com/index.php?/topic/128-class-info-teasers/

It'll all go on the website eventually - this was just announcing the launch of the section with very basic data.

Hope to see you on our forums :)

I like the idea of "asymmetrical" factions with distinct classes. Makes them have strengths and weaknesses vs the other factions as opposed to all of them being equal, making battles a bit more strategic as opposed to just the number of players being crucial.

@Sanya Weathers

hey Sanya, I hope you tell the devs about your last experience with the last 2 games thaty went for semi-mirroring. Dont want to see same mistakes being repeated.

Classes not being clones is fantastic and all that, but when one class performs several orders of magnitude better than its supposed counterpart, frustration arises...

Can't wait for this skill based PVP game with sandbox elements. I'm sure it's going to be awesome for these guys probably first bigger production attempt. They're using the Hero Engine, the same engine a 300 million dollar game is using, SWTOR. Apparently the engine is really easy to work with some tools that allow them to do such things like develop and play test at the same time. The guys making the hero engine allow people to test it out free of charge in a no save cloud environment. It seems they're pretty confident that once you have tested it that if you had the money to license it there's a good chance you might just like SWTOR and Prime. It's a new engine that's only about 5 years old. Gamasutra reports that these are the only two games listed to be in major development with it but I'm sure it's more of an open source project that will probably grow overtime.

These guys have just finished up their alpha test recently which was mostly just an engine test so that they know how far they can push it. They're not enormously rich but they're doing more of a community thing where beta testers have alot closer relationship with the developers. They also planned to release bits of information each week so not to run out of things to talk about and also to allow them to focus on one objective more thoroughly. It will probably be similar to game like firefall, tribes acend and will arrive close to the end of this year. Overall I have good faith in this game being worthwhile as apposed to one of the many other new releases.

Have high hopes for the game but the community already feels closed...like if you weren't in DAOC with the rest of them you're invisible.

Would definitely like to see MORE information on the game though so look forward to more fleshed out "infodumps".

Eh, I'm awfully sorry I'm giving that impression. :( Out of all the people I'm interacting with on the ability thread I linked to, I only know a couple of people.

There are a lot of people who played DAOC, but that's because that was the last three faction PVP game on the market - it makes sense that the people who loved that kind of game are interested in Prime.

But this isn't DAOC2 - not knowing the old game will have absolutely zero impact on your value to this new game's community. Other than the three factions and the map progression, the games aren't at all the same. Also, our first closed test will consist entirely of people who contributed to our alpha - meaning people who came along before the DAOC similarities were known.

Please speak up more. I am actually learning a lot from the stories people are telling from EVE and SWG, since I didn't play those titles to endgame.
