i just started a trial for Asherons Call. figured why not after reading this article. I've never played it in all my MMO history for fear of number 10.

I feel yeah you could jump into most of them except EVE. skill wise you'd be far behind

I'm a long time eve player and what you say is mostly true.

However, i've also found that in eve, new players are a lot more useful than they think they are. New players, tend to actually play and engage in a lot more things than old vets that log on just to do skills and see if theirs anything they're super interested in going on, if not they log off. Newbs in eve though, they are wide eyed and very much interested in experiencing everything and anything, and this usually makes them a powerful asset even to the most oldest and well built mega-alliances. They are much more willing to give things a try!

Skill points are one thing, but the initiative to help out is another thing entirely... Make the best of this as a newb, and you'll break out big time in eve, even with low skill points. It really doesn't take that long to get enough of the basic skills to be relevant anyway.
