They showed it off during the recent fan/press events, but this is their official release of it.

I'm going to go ahead and give my usual rant that a "state of the game" message would be nice... a lot of this stuff could be considered as a spoiler for those of us who like to watch the vids and meet the characters as we progress through the game the first time.

That was just a little cinema for that dungeon, read the article. Now that is story and lore, screw crappy walls of text, I like it I love it I want more of it!

Sad, these folks seemed to have turned headlong into the regular MMO sea. That the Massively in MMO means must group instead of masses of players. With what we have seen thus far in the interviews and cinematics what is different from the other MMO's out right now?

Nothing that i see, they still have the triangle, thats shown in the interviews and cinematics, though a couple interviews state otherwise (which is it), and raiding is alive and well coupled with the dungeons made for group only? Where is my choice to challenge a dungeon or run it with friends? Not in this title apparently, at least i havent seen it yet.

Its amazing what one small amount of released info can do to potential subscribers. From what i see, the company is not worried about getting folks from the original GW into GW2 as they have totally different mechanics in catering to a playerbase. (wondering)

What on earth? Pretty much everything you've said is completely backwards.

-The dungeons are meant for the people who want to group. Their presence in the game does not mean that the game is geared toward grouping entirely, and in fact they're a very small part of the overall content.

-All of the reports coming out of the recent press and fan event (where people actually got to play the game in a group) have said that they didn't have or need healers or tanks. Several of the groups that ran the content had up to four players of the same class.

-There is no "raiding." The dungeons are meant for people who want challenging group content, and they're made for five people max.

I honestly have no idea where you're drawing your conclusions from. I'm completely baffled.

@Graill440

What? Graill, are you even reading the articles and blog posts about GW2? I'm with Irem, completely at a loss for where you could be getting all this misinformation.

That was pretty good. I really liked the art style of the cinematic, it reminded me of the Dragon Age intro, which is NOT a bad thing. Voice acting was pretty decent. It's a lot better than what I heard in the first Guild Wars, so that's a plus. It's not Bioware quality, though, for obvious reasons.

What bugs me is the Charr in the beginning. His voice didn't really seem to match his body, and the speaking animation in the beginning is just weird. I don't know, maybe it's just me.

I'm going to say this right now, but I'm pretty damn sure that isn't just some random Charr, but Rytlock Brimstone. The major giveaway being the flaming dragon sword he's holding (actually the former Prince's weapon Sohothin)

That, and it be hard for me to not recognize Steve Blum's voice, he's like the Nolan North of anime.

You're right! :D It's Rytlock (and Blum).

It'll be just like the Guild Wars 1 in-game cinematic during missions. Those also tell the players about things they need to take note as the mission plays out. However, just about everyone skips it and you'll be pressured to do likewise.

Awesome. I wish they make those cinematics for every dungeon or storyline quest in the game.

@Phenomen

Well, it sounds like it will be for each dungeon, as a way to explain the backstory of the area a little, and the reason why you are there in the first place.

Shameless gush over the art direction and style of this trailer. Those guys at ArenaNet have found a way to insert just enough aesthetic to an otherwise standard realistic-style to make their look truly unique.

Now to wait for TigerDirect to have a good deal on a decent barebones rig package because I have a feeling many of us will need to upgrade to play this game at the higher levels of quality.
