Dinosaurs weren't lizards.

That is all.

So what you're saying is that ALL those episodes of the Flintstones were wrong then?!?!

Pfft. Yeah I didn't think so.

So which is funnier? Shaved cat or shaved dog?

@Daemodand My cat always looked a little goofy when we shaved her. She was some sort of cold weather breed cat, and we live in Texas, so she was always very uncomfortable in summer, even being an indoor-only cat.

(And yes, we shaved her ourselves. Took two of us, but she liked the results enough to put up with the annoyance of being held in one spot).

Yeah sorry but "I want an Apatosaurus Burger" just fails to roll of the tongue.

Nice try, but my teachers failed to convert me to the whole Apatosaurus not Brontosaurus thing so there isn't any chance you will either.

And I'm sure if the occasion arises for me to shout "Look out! Here comes a stampede of Brontosaurus!" if someone takes the time to lecture me about how I'm wrong calling it that, they will soon be the consistency of strawberry jam anyway so I'm not going to worry about it.

It's all moot because these are all names which we, HUMANS, have come up with to name these wonderous creatures. I'm sure they didn't go around calling themselves Brontosauruses or Apatosauruses anyways.

Dinosaurs could speak, right?!

But you COULD come under the scenario of someone shouting "Look out! Here comes a stampede of Brontosaurus!" since the name doesn't exist. Maybe they'll name a sub-species of rhino's after it, and then plenty of people might be screaming "Look out! Here comes a stampede of Brontosaurus!"

My other prehistoric pet peeve: Dimetrodon was not a Dinosaur. It was a pelycosaur. STOP SELLING THEM IN DINOSAUR TOY SETS, OKAY??!?!?! I'M GOING TO HAVE AN ANEURYSM!!!!

@Pingles

Also, dimetradon is more closely related to mammals than dinosaurs. I believe dimetradon is technically an ancestor to, or cousin to the ancestors of, humans.

@Equillian

Use a classic dinosaur joke
What do you call a blind dinosaur?
A Do-you-think-he-saurus.

What do you call a blind dinosaur's dog?
A Do-you-think-he-saurus Rex.

Credit to Jurassic Park (seriously, can you believe they are considering rebooting the franchise?)

"So if you see an enormous herbivore with a long neck, a whiplike tail, and a slow lumbering gait, don't misidentify! Make sure to inform all fleeing passersby that that dinosaur is an Apatosaurus, not a Brontosaurus."

Or a Diplodicus, Mamenchisaurus, Camarasaurus(whose head was put on the Apatosaur body to make the Brontosaur, give credit where credit is due), Brachiosaurus, Argentinasaurus, and countless other sauropods. Yes I used to be a dinosaur nut, why do you ask?

The cat shaving thing(laugh), its a debate that has more DVM's stating not to shave a cat. they have a better cooling system than a dog (same panting routine though) and their fur is actually made to help cool them and keep them warm. you can assist by brushing the undercoat out and keeping long haired cats brushed about three times a week in the summer months but the long haired cats do not need to be shaved as long as they have a cool spot to lounge in.

Also letting a shaved cat outdoors is a big do not do. Check your vets recommendations on shaving if your just going by what your friends or the internet says.
