I'm happy about the matchmaking fix, but was hoping for the addition of the racing district this patch

@Ratham We're working on Racing, it probably won't get released until after Clan Warfare is live. Clan Warfare is the big thing the team will be working on in July and August.

The Art team however is busy at work making the racing district, new kits and fun for that as well as building out the Asylum. So we're kind of working on 3 things at once right now :).

I'm still waiting on the announcement of permanent guns for in-game money before I reinstall this game. I really did enjoy the driving around and shooting. I crashed a few times, and the game lagged a bit, but y'know, it was crazy fun. The only things I had to look forward to, though, were the cars.

You kept the cars, and that was great. The guns? Nope. So, I stopped buying guns, and eventually got rocked by anyone wielding an AK, or whatever the game calls it. Now I've wiped the game off my drive. I half-wonder about a friend I made in-game... but they were the only thing holding me there. I got bored.

Let's hope this gets rectified at some point. If not, well, Firefall is on the horizon, and Tribes looks descent, but I still don't trust Hi-Rez.

So wait, is this one of those free Battlefield game style payment games where I have to pay real money to rent a gun to be competative? I was seriously planning on giving APB a go in it's relaunched state, but if I have to rent my guns then I'm far less enthusiastic about it.

@Budukahn

No, u can be competetive without paying a thing, the cashshop items are slightly different from what is available in game, but you're actually just paying to skip the progression/grind u'd need for an equivalent.

@all

Matchmaking is just fine in APB, what needs work is some sort of skill-segmentation and a skill-rating system that doesn't make people drop their jaw and scratch their heads.

@Budukahn

You pay about 3k - 5k in-game money to rent a gun for 10 days. That's all, that's it. There are slots to buy to unlock on the weapon, and gear to customize it with. I never made it far enough to test if these upgrades/slots vanish with the gun or not, and the only ones who get to permanently own gear are paying players. There are no options for a Free To Player to get a permanent gun, at least while I was playing.

Thank goodness. I cannot count the number of one-sided matches I've been in since this game launched. It completely sucks getting dominated for 5 minutes when you know you have no hope of winning.

@PrimeSynergy

I agree to that!

I needs more skills and weaponery-airy-ery!

But matchmaking should help!

Matchmaking is definitely better than the RTW version, but it still needs work. Glad to read that the new patch is tweaking even more. I'm really enjoying myself with APB:R and am glad that Reloaded Studios is working hard at improvements.

I hope that not only matchmaking is fixed, but the threat level assigned to players is as well. Its all well and good matching you up against people of a similar TL but if the TL is wrong it wont help. If Im painfully honest, I'm an average player and nowhere near to be considered good and yet my TL is high silver so I'm being matched against people who are clearly much better than me so I will lose all the time which isnt fun. I will just have to wait and see what the patch brings before making a decision.
