Well, wont' have to worry about my guardians. Interested in what they'll do to the minstrel though, since I normally have War-speech on and solo.

@wfseg

Yep. My Guardian main is nodding thoughtfully; Minstrel alt is also looking interested and pleased.

As a Lore-Master, any sort of consolidation feels most welcome. Things are getting a bit crowded on my action bars.

Sad that there isn't any rune-keeper news yet, but I'm patient! Glad to hear about the other changes though, LM in particular was something I've been planning on rolling before Isengard.

The Minstrel changes sound really interesting, but I'm still having a hard time convincing myself to even log in and play to lvl 65...heh

Good summary. I especially like that ~2006 screenshot of the troll in Angmar. ^,^

Yay! The Cappy changes sound awesome! I don't really do any sort of tanking much (not willingly anyway lol), but that might change soon. I can't wait!

I think their decisions so far are sound and well thought-out. Wardens and Guards are fine for the most part. The only thing I'd like to see for Guards is Overpower and Force Opening gained closer together. It'd help solo leveling a bunch since Overpower doesn't really provide that much of a damage boost before you get FO. I typically didn't even bother with OP until 30 for this reason.

I'm stoked for the Mini and LM changes. I'm cautiously optimistic about the Burg changes. Considering how much Burgs have been jerked around by the devs lately, I'm still skeptical, but we'll see. Not sure what to think of the Captain changes. My main's a Cap, so I'm gonna go over Orion's blog with a fine-tooth comb.

All in all, skill consolidation is something ALL classes need. Love this game, but the gameplay is way too clunky with that many skills. They really should've done this back in the beginning of Mirkwood, but it's better late than never.

@Ghostspeaker

Just happened on the LM changes in the Cap post and found this little gem:

"Friend to Aurochs - Summons an Aurochs as a pet."

........

Love the Lore Master changes! I am really looking forward to the skill consolidation. And to the part about the new Auroch pet for LMs... yes please! :D

Overall the changes look very good, it seems Turbine is taking a good look on what they can do to improve the current skills.

Looks like Orion and friends are making some nice changes. I'm all for having less than 30 buttons to spam. In fact, I'd love to have 7-10 core skills to use at strategic times, so I can spend more time watching the action and less time staring at my hotbar.

The problems with LotRO's developers is that for certain classes, instead of 'balancing' something out by pulling up the lesser, unused abilities/stances/etc, they penalize the current 'go to' abilities, in essence nerfing them. While with their favored classes, they add and add past the point of OP and then leave them stagnate for long periods of time.

It's sad really. There's rarely a reason to nerf the current state of a class for sake of making them 'more versatile' because in essence, you're actually making them less versatile than before with the false appearance of having different options. The only time nerfs are appropriate is when something is over powered/ head over heels above the rest. (like back when parties were nothing more than all hunters and one mini)

I LOVE my runekeeper just the way he is and really hope they don't do anything to mess up the fundamentals. Only thing I think I'd like to see really is making it so you can cast an AoE a lot earlier in the fight (besides Writ of Cold). If I'm fighting two mobs by the time my battle attunement is built up enough to cast Essence of Winter usually one of them is dead by that point, or almost. And if you're fighting more than two mobs there's no way in hell you're going to be able to cast any of your three AoEs with the constant knockback going on, unless you stun them all with Vivid Imagery first, which you don't get until 56 anyways.

One big thing I'd like to see changed overall: LIMIT THE AMOUNT OF KNOCKBACK POSSIBLE ON A SINGLE CAST!!! I mean sheesh! Your character apparently has some sort of stuttering problem as soon as they start taking some damage. I think they need to follow what WoW did several years ago and make it so you can only get knocked back two or three times on a single cast. I think that's plenty.

For clarification's sake, after the warden dev diary came out, the warden forum got behind a handful of issues we felt weren't being addressed by the devs. The result? 3 new proposed skills - an aggro dump/toggle, an anti-stun with tactical defense buff and a snap aggro skill.

I am all for not having a clusterfuck of spells on my Loremaster's action bars :D

Hoping some pets will get a bit of love too.

"Wardens: Eh, you're fine. Suck it up.
Wardens might not be perfect, but they're widely recognized as one of the most powerful (and self-sufficient) classes in the game, so I think that Turbine's fine with keeping them where they are."

It's misleading facts like the above that really makes me frustrated. The fact that a Warden can solo content that is under leveled should never mean that they are overpowered. Look at Champions. They have a long list of solo accomplishments similar to Wardens and then they receive a massive revamp that will make the tank spot in fellowships even harder to get for us.
Nerves has pointed out that after much complaining and criticism and general raging Orion threw us a few bones (the gambits) but people shouldn't even have to make threads that showcase how out of touch developers are with the state of the game.

Captains: Getting buff
I'm not even going to quote anything. Buffed? Only in a minor sense and that's speculation meanwhile we are already seeing a stealth nerf from the proposed stat system. Captains are not going to tank come Isengard. we will not have the stats, defenses, or threat to be able to do so.
They should give us back the damage that we lost post in Mirkwood and F2P. They should fix the imbalanced amounts of healing from our Emblems. they should make it so that we have a reason to trait Lead the Charge for groups. They should make it so that we wont be the only class that has to stack two main stats come Isengard to be worthwhile in a group and so that we don't fall back even further from the rest of the classes.
Before they even think of adding more relevance to a role that is almost never utilized they should be fixing the problems that they made/are making.

There's my 2 cp.
