I've been playing and enjoying Rift since right before release but I must say, I still can't believe a game like this was released without a guild bank. I understand they didn't want to release this feature until it is working 100% as intended, however it isn't like the idea of guild banks was thought up after they started development on the game. Guild banks have been in other games for years.

@(Unverified) No guild bank, no API, no LFD tool. Must be 1999 again.

@Weiji There's a LFD tool, and the guild bank will be in shortly. Probably just a matter of a hotfix to turn it on. The API won't be out for a while though, they're gonna reactivate it on the PTS soon and then, when it's mature, release it on the actual shards.

@Tassels LFD (or LFG as they call it) is currently disabled. So, no LFG.

it was workning fine in the last major patch. They tried to make some tweaks and temporarily broke it. Not a big deal.

@Resurge

I haven't had a title with a pun since, like, two days ago or something. It was time.

It's fine, servers were back up when I tried to log on around 8pm EST; some quirks are definitely there as reported (and acknowledged by Trion themselves), but I don't see the big fuss.

Hate to draw comparisons, but Blizzard has gotten notoriously bad with patch deployments over the years, major content patches result in 12-15 hours of downtime and hotfixes for several days after that.

MMOs aren't simple to manage and update, I'll leave it at that.

Looks like a solid update. Sucks to see guild banks held back, but I'm glad to see that the PTR is having a positive effect. Better to have content working during the first time it's released and developers using the PTR to help improve the production version of the game.

Most of the mage changes blew. I went ahead and canceled in protest but will probably play occasionally until the sub runs out.

@Puremallace
I think we'll have to agree to disagree. I've already heard reports from the forums of clerics replacing mages in raids... for DPS.
Chloros have to run 51 point builds to do less than what they were able to do with 32 point builds prior to 1.3.
I wasn't talking about Pyro changes - I honestly PvP about once every two weeks if then so I didn't see anything major there.
What I loved about Rift was how many different ways you could build your character and still be very effective. What I'm seeing is a trend to force players to go to 51 point builds in order to fill niches in 5-mans (unless very over-geared). Which is basically a reversal of what initially drew me in to Rift.

@Scarecrowe was in greenscale raid - chloro definitely was still high on the healing charts.

Some cleric builds have become incredibly flexible in 1.2

*sigh* Rift...oh Rift...I had such hope for you.....I did...

However the promise of dynamic content and fun faded away, (as I leveled to 50 in under a month...without even trying really), to a raid or die world, with a huge gear grind.

I don't raid Rift...and I won't pay a sub to fund a raiders ego....*sigh* I had such hope for that game... >_<

@ElfLove May I suggest Anarchy Online if you want a slow level curve. To get a maxed out toon it can take you the better part of a year.

Or pick a grindy free to play Asian MMO - they are all about the grind and leveling.

We're talking about MMO here - at some point, you need to have your players at the same level, and providing exciting content targeted for that level. This magic level is the level cap.

If you are after the levelling experience, and a dynamic story - you are not really after a MMO - you are better off looking for a single player game like Dragon Age or Witcher 2.

Progression paths in Rift at level cap:

* 20-men Raiding (Greenscale, River of Souls, Hammerknell)
* 10-men Raiding - wasn't possible before the nerfs in 1.3 - where
* PVP
* Open world rifts, leading to expert rifts (5 men) and raid rifts (20 men) - (this is the only unique part labelled as a differentiation from other MMOS)
* Dungeons (tier 1 and tier 2)
