This week, after much post-E3 speculation among staff and players about GamersFirst's intentions as to Fallen Earth, the company gave us the exclusive news that it had acquired the post-apocalyptic IP and planned to overhaul it into one of its tiered free-to-play offerings a la All Points Bulletin: Reloaded. The existing Fallen Earth dev team, fully intact and eager to parlay its acquisition into enhanced game development, followed up the announcement with a new dev blog that promised love for often-overlooked populations like roleplayers and PvPers, leaving sandbox aficionados to wonder whether the revitalized wastelands might just have a long life ahead of them.
