@oGGe Same here.

At least Battlefield 3 looks awesome. But still, I would have probably taken my FPS game time and applied it to the EVE universe if it was on PC.

I hope Planetside is cool.

Same here. Dust was a failure the second they announced it was going to be console only. The fact that they went with PS3 just means it will fail faster. We just have to hope they don't destroy too much of Eve trying to prop it up.

@oGGe Yes, pretty much this - I also don't own PS3 and I don't see the reason why I should buy one just for this game, considering my PC is fast enough already (not to mention I really, really dislike the overall gamepad controls regardless of the console manufacturer).

@oGGe This game should of always been for the PC. PS3 only is just a cash grab for something that will fail. PC is where the EVE fanbase is, and where the game should be.

Yeah means I'm not going to bother with it. One game is not enough for me to dust off the doorstop and deal with PSN's Terribad service.

@Dunraven

Oh please. Just because the whole hacking fiasco happened doesn't mean PSN is terribad; it actually works pretty well the vast majority of the time.

Also, on-topic: not really. I have a PS3 and I can use the controller pretty well. I am annoyed I'll have to switch platforms to play in the same game universe (lul) but I'll still be playing.

I've got a ps3, xbox and pc and to be honest would prefer it on PC. I'm not an eve player and because its a one off fee for the purchase (no subs for dust) i might get it but would prefere xbox as the ps3 is so damned noisey!

I'm more pissed they keep delaying this mythical WODO MMO. although not so interested post "its masquerade" thing... sorry gone off topic now lol

To be honest fact it's on ps3 is kinda going to be a failure just for that reason. Games on PS3 don't sell enough to have enough people for this feature of EVE to even be succesful.

All in all this is a really bad deicsion on CCP part, they'll be lucky to sell 200k unit and have 10k of them keep playing after a month

This is a poorly-considered attempt by CCP to break into what they perceive as the lucrative console market by leveraging their semi-popular and very nerd-driven IP. The attempt will fall flat on its face.

Console audiences don't even exist in the same reality as EVE players, (the latter tends to be several I.Q. tiers and several levels of education above the average console gamer). More importantly, developing for consoles is a specialized field. Barring the rare blockbuster title, (which I'm gonna guess DUST will not be), a developer has to pump out a relatively high volume of titles to make money in the console market. Putting out a single console title is the equivalent of owning a single rent house -- you'll probably barely break even.

Short version: EVE will not carry a console title. Fail.

I don't know why people are neg repping you. Console kiddies are literally the worst human beings on the planet.

I was looking forward to it. Now that it's a PS3 exclusive I can guarantee that I will never play it, since I don't own a PS3.

I'll continue to keep my eyes on DUST 514 news but only to the extent of looking for an article titled something along the lines of "CCP has regained their sanity and decided to release DUST 514 on the PC."

I didn't mind. I have a PS3 and an Xbox, so I can still play. CCP said the reason behind this was that Sony and PSN are much more liberal and open to work with than with Microsoft, and that's not the first time a developer says that. So it makes sense. I don't think "superior hardware" has anything to do with it.

I'm not really excited about this game, but I am curious. I don't play EVE (even though I think it's a fantastic and creative game, but it's not for me), but maybe I'll give Dust a chance to immerse me in the MMOs world. My brother plays EVE, so it would be interesting to see how I would be able to interact with him through the PS3.

Going console only was bad enough but PS3 only was probably the single most stupid thing CCP could do.

Btw, I don't know why you guys are so surprised and disappointed in the game not being released on the PC. I thought it was confirmed from the beginning that this game was a console game, not a PC one. The whole reason they're doing this is to connect people from the consoles with the PC EVE community.

So, really, no surprises there.
