I'm so stoked!! I got into the beta and I can't wait to actually try out this game I've been drooling over for months.

However this surprised me: "Nexon has high hopes for Dragon Nest, and the company expects the free-to-play title to be its third major American market success (after Vindictus and Dungeon Fighter Online)..."

I thought MapleStory was doing really well in the States too. Last I checked it has WAY more active servers than either DFO or Vindictus (which each only have two), and they were all pretty active back when I was playing.

Interesting.

My biggest question, will they be getting rid of that stupid stamina system, like they're doing with DFO? The game could be great, but after frustrations of leveling characters and trying to hit class changes only to be locked out for the rest of the day really killed my desires for DFO. I don't want that to happen here, too.

@ShivanSwordsman

They're getting rid of it in Vindictus too, the only other game of theirs with a stamina system, so it'd be pretty weird if they left it in DN.

They made an official announcement a while ago on the site that they got rid of the fatigue system and instead added an empowerment system. The new system isn't clear yet, since the dev blog was riddled with hints and no clear answer of what it exactly will be.

Also, DFO doesn't have the fatigue system either (or won't after the big update), there will be a Blitz Point system that rewards (bonus exp) the longer you play.

Apparently, they're all adopting systems like that of WoW: Bonus EXP for a while, then you get standard EXP after a certain amount of time/dungeons played/EXP gained. Rested EXP, I'd guess. I shall be checking this game out... though hopefully it's nothing like the Blitz System, which starts making the durability go down faster, and start costing more, after a certain point.

All in all, I will be trying this game out. Consider me optimistic, but not yet hyped.

@Dumac

Nope, it's NA only.

However there is a Dragon Nest Global going into beta sometime next month. I believe they're still accepting sign-ups. :)

In the preview they hinted that this game was fully instanced like Vindictus. Is that right?

Man, I really want in on this closed beta, but at the same time I don't like closed anymore. I work on my character and need him to stick around, since I just hate redoing all that content.

It's not laziness, just a need for organization! lol

Very fun game, and the best combat system in any MMO, in my opinion.

i think I might have signed up for beta about 9 months ago. I didn't get an email confirming I got accepted but after logging into my account and hitting the check beta status it confirms I'm in.

I went to the trouble of playing the Japanese version 6 months ago or so, it's a lot of fun, I'll be playing this one when it releases.

I don't remember if I signed up or not. I might have just gotten distracted by Vindictus instead. :p
