Ahahaha, I miss the old Guild Wars necro.

Having 100 minions running around destroying shit was so freaking awesome. All you had to do was sit back and sip a margarita and watch your minions destroy an entire team in a pvp arena.

I would love if a necromancer was able "tame" pets too... only you resurrect them and they're permanent. I don't want skeletons coming out of my tigers, I want to see a zombie tiger.

The art department is going to love hearing that....

In some games I love pet classes, and in other games, I simply do not. I love my Shaman/Druid's Satyr in Rift, and the Mastermind from CoV. In Lotro, I never really got into any of the pet classes at all -- I'm not sure why, but none of them appealed to me (loved my Warden and Burglar, too much).

I can't even put my finger on what it is that makes playing a Mastermind in CoV, or a Druid build in Rift so much more fun than other pet classes in other games. I've tried to analyze it, and I just can't figure it out. So sue me.

I usally play a primarily pet archetype; mainly b/c I am a soloing and exploring geek ... but anways ...

Like several others have pointed out ... having my pets evolve as they level would be awesome. Every few levels, as they gain new abilities, have their appearance evolve as well ... if its something like a bear or a cat, have them get a little larger/more fierce looking ... its is a demon or undead minion have them sprout a new arm, or horn, or wing ...

Something that would visually show whoa! that is a badass pet!

Also, I could see it being kinda fun having a few pet specific social emotes ... roll over, play dead, sing ... that sort of thing.

My biggest priority is varied controls. When my "pets" are just dependent on (usually poor) AI--like DDO's summoned monsters--it's frustrating and they often feel like a liability.

Of course, DDO essentially makes -any- class into a pet class, so that's redemptive.

Given the choice between many pets and few, I'll take many, but only inasmuch as they can be implemented to be more useful than a single powerful pet; either way, I like soloing and that's why Pet Classes are so appealing.

I have always like pet classes, but I really fell in love with them while playing Aion. Out of all the pet classes, or a class with pets, my favorite is Lineage 2 Elemental Summoner. Lineage 2’s pet system is by far the best I have seen in any
