Speaking as a slow leveller, taking a variety of different classes up at the same time, I have to say that the XP trinket is more then enough compensation for me in terms of low level content. And hey, as you say, there's till time for further reveals etc.

I agree. It is a huge perk that was well worth the preorder.

Are you saying there is a lack of low-level content and you are having a hard time leveling?

Not at all. I'm saying I'm a slow leveller because I level a wide variety of characters at more or less the same time. You see?

A lot of players had been hoping that this expansion would bring us some form of mounted combat (Rohirrim-style), but there hasn't been a word about that. Pethaps that is one the final bombs to be dropped by Turbine?

@Lenn Devs have said mounted combat comes with the Rohan expansion. This is the Isengard expansion.

@Vagrant Zero I know, but since we'll be getting to the Gap of Rohan I hoped we would at least get a taster of mounted combat.

Mounted combat will come with Rohan. Right now we're faced with disrupting Saruman's plans to crush the Rohirrim.

I was hoping for some updates to player housing, but that seems to be extremely low on the developers priority list, unfortunately.

Agreed. I'm currently spending time in both EQ2 and LotRO. Housing in LotRO is so bad by comparison that I don't even go to my home there anymore.

I have a few points:

1) I believe Turbine is recognizing Isengard as a make or break point for the game. People who have been around for years (like me) are waiting to see if the switch to F2P is gonna revitalize the content output like promised.

2) I do not want to see new systems when the old ones have been seemingly neglected. LIs have yet to fully realize their potential. Housing has been mostly neglected since release.

3) The Legendary pre order option is a tough pill for us lifers. We already own all the quest packs. I would like to have seen a pre order option geared towards lifers/VIPs in addition to what is there now.

I honestly don't expect to see much of anything aimed at us lifers in the future except new ways to get us to use the cash shop.

Let's face it: For most of not all of us the lifetime sub has now paid for itself. In other words, we've now been playing long enough that the amount we haven't paid monthly exceeds the amount we paid for the lifetime account. That means that there's now zero profit from us anymore. In fact, we're costing the company money because we're using bandwidth and other resources.

They're already being extremely generous by giving us 500 TP every month we log into the game. I would be shocked to see them give us any other special perks beyond that. Sure, it would be nice but from a business perspective it just wouldn't make sense for them to do it.

I'm a lifer as well. Though I'd love to have all three cosmetic outfits, I just can't justify (effectively) paying $20 for them. There's literally nothing else in the pack that has value to me - I own all the content, and I don't care about the xp bonus item.

So far, I haven't preordered, and I've played LotRO for four years and invested over a thousand hours in it.

@aurickle Im not specifically looking for perks. However, creating pre-order packages geared towards people who already own all the quest packs would've been nice. How about instead of the QPs we culd pre-order and get more wardrobe space, or more TPs, or more vault space, or another character slot?

Even if these pre-order options were cash only I would buy them.

I see nothing wrong with the offers they have, so try not to lump everyone into your own opinion. I have heard many say that we are getting something we do not need, but honestly they could have left off the quest packs and I think its still a fair enough price. Having a $30 option for 3 new zones, especially at the caliber of Isengard which will draw some into the game for the first time, is a pretty good price.

I have to disagree again on this being a make or break moment for Turbine. I think that point was measured from the point F2P launched until the first major update with the latest 12 man. I think they have a good idea of their numbers. This expansion will only add more gravy and probably more subscribers as well, I do not see it as something that will make or break the game. They have said recently that their numbers tripled and have continued to rise. Want further proof that this expansion is probably already a hit for them? Go to any major hub and you will see plenty of folks with their new horse, cloak or armour. Usually all 3 together.

@DancingTaco Grrr. I try to always word my responses as to pertain to me only. I slipped up with the 'us lifers' comment.

I never wanted to have the pre-order options taken away. All I wanted to see was MORE options. As in: in addition to what is already available.

As far as make or break: I have this feeling in my mind that Isengard is a turning point. There seems to have been plenty of negative feedback on the huge grind game that has been introduced lately. The fact they are redesigning every class in the game tells me Turbine senses they have a huge opportunity with the expac.

I have been following the way in which they are doing the class changes this time and most of that comes from the slack they caught over some of the class changes this past year. Some were met with cheers (mini, hunter, etc) while others were very unfavorable (RK's, Burgs). I think this way is really good because they are gauging all of the responses and saying ok, this is what we have in mind, what do you guys think, and then they tweak based on feedback.

An option for lifers would have been nice I guess, but I think in Turbines mind we are already getting such a great deal and they do want us to spend something on this game so they figure why bother. To us we see ourselves as first ones to financially back the game and put a long term stake in it. To them they see us as sponges who helped out earlier and have more than got what we paid for, which is true to an extent. Regardless I am just happy to have constant updates again and hope this expansion draws in more and more people.

I was hoping I could get the Legendary as a box, that would be nice as I no longer have bandwidth to download big expansions. Plus a box with lotro stuff would be great, looks like digital only so far though.

@donweel I expect Turbine to have LOTRO be digital only from now on.
