"...sealing up the fortress, whistling innocently, and conveniently forgetting it until another raid area was needed."

Brilliant! :D

Seriously, though, looks great. Love how they're always releasing cool new content Instead of making players wait months between updates.

Dwarves suck. Why would we want to help them? I say let them all die and then we'll step in.

I like that they keep putting out content.
I just wish it wasn't all raider content. Some fresh PvP, new secondary skills (like fishing), Fluff (housing, ahem) and world/environment content is really what's needed (to keep MY interest). Raiders JUST got River of Souls. Why did they need something new again already?!?

I left WoW to try Rift because I wanted something new, different, fresh. If I wanted raiding, I had plenty of progress in WoW. That wasn't why I left WoW. I left because I WAS TIRED OF RAIDING.
Oh man. This is turning into the same ol' carrot on a stick, fast, and that makes me sad.

PLEASE, Trion... change gears. I see the exit sign, give me a reason not to run away. I'm a pioneer. I love to explore. I like to create. I don't like to spend my day in the same dungeon over...and over...and..over to get gear, to go in another dungeon. over and over and over...to get gear...to go into another dungeon...

Could NOT say it any better. I can't believe that they are going to open up Hammerknell and it's ONLY for raiders. That is a total and utter load of crap.

@(Unverified) The raiding is just the "main event" of the patches so to speak. They need to add more raiding tiers, otherwise they'll end up like WoW with people bored raiding the same content for months. Other than instanced raids, however, they also continuously add new content like crafting rifts (last patch), more expert rifts, more types of zone invasions, more rift types, etc. They also add more raid rifts and straight-up new concepts like Omen and Quantum sight, allowing people to see Slivers (10-man raids) and new artifacts (for those who like to explore and such).

Rift is trying to appeal to a lot of people. It's sad that people just pay attention to the raiding content they put out to keep raiders happy and don't see the massive amount of other content that is pushed out in each patch.

And it's highly likely they'll put out a PvP zone patch soonish, they've been hinting at Port Scion (Fallen) and other new zones for a while now.

@(Unverified) I laughed at the part where you left WoW for Rift to get something new.

One more tier of raid content was needed and the multi wing 10 boss setup will be enough to satisfy most raiders for a while.

1.4 and 1.5 will likely be group and pvp content.
They really need to have another tier of group content in place since T2 is pretty easy now, even for casual players.

@(Unverified) They also are working on two more 10-man instances, that should be out sometime after 1.3... Though I doubt either of them will be the "main attraction" of a future patch. Trion has recently been hinting at some PvP stuff so that'll probably happen.

"......Another groovy feature is a whole new type of collection artifacts that can only be seen by those who've purchased the ability to see the 10-person raid slivers. These "red sparklies" are the latest in Trion's attempt to provide another layer of the game that's beyond the world we typically see......."

HELL YA!

It's great to see that they're adding in these little things besides just raiding content. And, I'm glad to see other use of a very expensive ability (25k Planarite, holy shit!)

It's going to be very interesting to see what kind of items can be bought with these "red sparklies" because they've got to be more special than those of normal artifact collections.

It was clear from beta and headstart that Rift-off was to be Raid>PvP>PvE.
Skip to cap then Raid or Warfront over and over and ov............

We saw the exit sign in headstart and took it.

Awesome news. would like to see some thing about wardrobe costumes, housing or a pvp update, but this is still pretty good for a patch. not like its an expansion or anything.

when are they going to realise that most of the population will never even raid to endgame. whats happening now is a very bored population of 50's
fluff content is what keeps players playing, and all there getting is more shinies.dont get me wrong as i like the encounters they have made but in betweeen raids there is not much to do

If I get tired at 50, I will either roll an alt, or move to a new game.

So you came from WoW because you were bored with raiding, to a game which is exactly like wow just improved, and still winge on about everything?? they make and release raid content because pepl are at that stage, if ur bored of raids and the idea of raiding and dungeons bout time u found a new game that doesnt have anything to with it ? who wants to learn fishing??? go back to wow if u want that rofl, rather than be one of the millions that do nothing but bitch about the game but still play it? Rifts a awsum game, its better than wow already wonder where its gonna be when its been out as long as wow..
