And SOE did a good thing here. No trolls please. Thanks

@Yellowdancer There will be trolls. It's SOE. But I agree with you.

Yeah, this deal is pretty tempting, but it's an SOE article. There are never not trolls in an SOE article.

@Raikulxox. Trolls and negative comments are not the same. Learn the difference because your ignorance annoys me.

@Monkey D Luffy My point was there was nothing negative/trollworthy about this. How is approving it is a nice deal being negative? =/

I'll tell you how you can be negative at this, since I had no positive thoughts when I first looked at it.

The "deal" is $20 for a bunch of games that very few people want to play (as shown by their player numbers). Giving someone a "good deal" on something they don't want in the first place is not giving them a deal at all.

For those few people who enjoy one of those titles, it is a chance to essentially try out the other games for $5 more. But, most people who enjoy one of those titles likely won't enjoy/have the time for a second title anyway.

Look at it this way. MMO companies pay you, really, for the data you use. When you are subscribing to two of their games, you can only be logged into one at a time. This means you aren't eating up any extra bandwidth and are simply only using a tiny amount of storage space for your other characters. Essentially they make more money and it costs them nothing.

I'm not saying they should do it, it is a smart business move, but it shouldn't ever be more than $20 for that type of system which makes $20 a standard price and not a "good deal".

Well, you're actually eating up a lot of storage space with SOE games...compared to other games. People don't really give SOE credit for what they created. They have 5 MMO's with a housing system. Even sandbox games don't rival their housing sytems. Great crafting systems in 3 of their games. And EQ2 is the only game I can think of with a real strict character limit...but that was before dynamic databases were implemented. And they have kept every character since their first game launched 12 years ago. That's a lot of storage.

Personally, I mainly just play EQ2. But I have upgraded to station pass to get access to SWG from time to time. Still a fun time sink.

I DO like the new changes coming from SOE since the whole hacking thing. Someone finally realized they're not 2nd to Blizzard anymore and they can't expect to force their games down enough people's throats to be successful. There are just too many options out there these days and next year looks to be even more promising.(I'm not counting on TOR to come out this year...hope it does though)

That's actually a really good deal and I'm interested. But having said that you do have to wonder what kind of financial shape SOE is in. That's a huge price reduction as a percentage and over a course of a year a substantial sum. When you multiple that by tens of thousands of people that's a significant decrease in potential revenue per person.

Who knows. Maybe SOE did the math and determined they will increase revenue with this model.

@HokieKC I think it will actually be a good thing for them. They likely did the math and came to realize they didn't have many people buying that pass anymore. They also know they only really have EQ2 that has been semi successful for them (of their subscriptions games anyway) and their other games aren't really worth their subscription fees. So by making the pass that much cheaper, it should breathe some life into those other games. I know if I were a EQ2 player and saw that deal, I would pay the $5 extra for a chance to mess around in Planetside, Vanguard, or even DCUO.

That is actually a very good price. If you pay monthly for just 1 MMO all you have to do is pay another 5 and get 8 more? I seriously think I am going to do this. I only play WoW right now but it is nice to take a break, here and there.

That's pretty shocking, I always said their increase to $29.99 because they were adding Vanguard wasn't justified and that it should have been dropped right back down to $24.99 when they closed Matrix Online. But a drop to $19.99 is a phenomenal deal. If I actually liked any of their games, I would jump on that in a second.

I used to do this when I played SWG, EQ2 and The Matrix online, was great, and you can accrue some vet-rewards easy too

That is a good deal. It would be nice if they removed the box price on their older titles, like SWG and Vanguard, then it would be a really easy decision.

I'm pretty sure there's no box price for either of those, I had Station Access a couple months ago and was playing SWG and Vanguard although I never purchased the box. With this deal I'll be doing it again.

@chum That's excellent news! I'd love to see how many of the games don't require a box price, but the store won't load : /

Thats fantasTICK!

Of all the games, Vanguard is my fave. Been playing all the SOE games since EQ Beta 2. Wish they would give Vanguard some love. Just a few dev's adding content would make a huge difference. Not that the game doesnt have enough content now. I've been trying to get through it all for a few years now.

Second favorite is Planetside. Those two games alone are worth the money.

20 bucks is a good deal!

Good enough for me, as lomg as they respect the price drop in Australia. At that price, I'll probably resubscribe.
