You could argue that maybe they are doing this because too many people are leaving due to boredom/cheaters/missing features and they want to try to encourage people to stay by promising incoming improvements. I left and uninstalled recently due to the above (mainly unfair/unbalanced matchups due to hackers) but its good to see them improving the game for those who choose not to use aimbots etc and play the game fairly. Wish them all the best and hope the existing playerbase appreciate their efforts.

I was only an average quality player so a large percentage of my games ended in defeat due to better players or hackers so I may start playing again once the closed low threat districts are introduced (as the cheaters and good players will have their own districts) and the racing districts come in :-)

I feel like they really should have prioritized squashing the cheaters in the beta.

I wonder how Punkbuster works? Are they paying a fee to use it? Or is a licensed deal of a one time payment? Because every time I see a game with "Punkbuster" on it, I see a million comments about cheaters. It seems like it does next to nothing.

Seriously, enough with all the accusations of cheaters everywhere! The fact of the matter is that there are a LOT less cheaters than you (and most of the player base) wants to believe, obviously because if they're cheating then you aren't to blame for losing (but this is a lie! Stop telling it to yourself).

That being said, the matchmaking will most definitely improve once they implement the low-skill districts. The difference between a new player and a long-time vet is such that the new player can very, very easily get the mistaken impression that they're cheating because the fighting is so one-sided.

More pew-pew, less qq. I've been playing this game since OB release and have had ZERO problems with cheaters.

I've been Gold Threat Levels 2-4 since release and I seriously think it's pathetic how much people cry about 'hackers' and 'cheaters'. Not to say they don't exist, but I've personally been called a hacker a few times but often get destroyed by some people that are BETTER than me!

Just consider that it's likely you are just being outplayed. Unless you are Gold threat level 8+ and getting utterly destroyed, it's likely you are just not as good as some players you get matched up against.

Keep in mind, you are out there playing with the best and worst players so sometimes you will crush people, sometimes you will be the crushee.

My 2 cents. Playing casually and really enjoying APB: Reloaded. I've put in about 40-50 hours so far.

I will second that opinion though I am as guilty as the next guy of jumping to the hacker excuse. In this incarnation of the game I have spotted possibly 2 players who I might have suspected of actually using an aimbot or a wallhack. It's not that there are so many cheaters its just that there are so many mistakes that you have to not make.

This game will do that to you. You screw up and drive your car too close to an objective and suddenly the opposition knows where you are at. You start shooting anywhere and you pop up on radar. You crouch around a wall but don't notice that you are casting a shadow and the opposition instantly shoots at you around the corner you were hiding. You kick a bunch of boxes and a guy ducks around the corner and takes you out.

Squealing tires, slamming car doors, doors kicked open, running footsteps, climbing ladders. These are all things that you have to manage.

The problem I think isn't hackers so much but lack of patience on the part of players. Most matches have several stages. In most cases all that matters is the last 20-30 seconds of the match. Take your time and think about how to solve the problem you have in front of you rationally.

If you sprint / shoot / throw a grenade, you appear on the enemy radar.

You can easily run/walk/crouch-walk around places to get behind people.

False, only shooting and driving a vehicle make you show up on radar.

The sprinting thing is a myth that's been somehow perpetuated despite the fact that it's so incredibly obvious and easy to disprove.

I've been playing since Realtime World's closed beta and there are not nearly as many hackers as people claim.

Since there aren't classes to blame imbalance on when the masses of "bads" die, they just call hacks instead.

Are there problems? Sure are

This happens every game...
>Bads come in masses
>Die
>Blame either a weapon or class being OP, or call hacks
>Give the game bad reviews because they suck at it
>Game slowly dies

If that doesnt happen then the Devs are like Blizzard and cater to every whine of every "bad" playing their game to keep them paying/playing longer. Hell, Blizzard takes nerfs out of the PTR if there is enough whine on the forums.

Third that opinion. I have been playing since CB and have alot of hours in. I have only seen a handful of ppl that I think are hacking. The game has very frustrating mechnaics and mission play and it not alot of fun some times.

The new threat/MM system they put in is a complete and utter joke at this time. The threat/MM they were using in the CB was so much better than the current one. As it stands right now doing mission without a full group(depending on threat) is just pointless. I qeued solo one day and got nothing but 1v2s to1v5s and could call in no backup. I even played with a friend and all we were getting was 2v6s with no backup. Why you implment a new threat/MM system and leave the biggest part of it out is just stupid.

I'm around gold 7 and yeah that pretty high but the way this game's shooting and mission dynamics work. Being outnumbered even if they aren't that good will sink you fast.

The point is that, even if there are cheaters, crying "H4X!" every single friggin' time you lose is just pathetic. No matter whether or not they're cheating. (Most people aren't, because they actually care about personal skill, integrity, and/or their accounts).

I've seen it in a ridiculous number of games. The number of unskilled players crying wolf greatly outstrips the ACTUAL number of cheaters every single time, without exception. It quickly gets tiresome.

If these people would just learn to PLAY instead of blaming their inadequacies on everything other than themselves (which, by the way, is the very definition of "scrub"), this wouldn't even be an issue.
