MV Guide: June 6 - 12, 2011

MV Guide is a weekly rundown of the MMO gaming events planned on Massively's Livestream channel.

Every week, the Massively staff logs in to play various MMOs live and in person, and we'd love for you to drop by the channel and visit. We have a combination of regular weekly games and new surprises, so you'll find a variety of games to take a look at. During Livestream events, you can participate in the live chat to learn about the game, ask questions, and spend some time with Massively staff and readers. (Of course, Livestream events are subject to the whims of outside forces like server-side gremlins once in a while.)

	Tuesday, 7:00 p.m. EDT: Jeremy -- Alganon It's been a long time since Jeremy has played Alganon, but he's looking forward to reacquainting himself with this colorful MMO. Hopefully there will be some Alganon veterans in the audience because Jeremy may have some questions of his own, like whether crafting yields items as powerful as dungeon drops.
	Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. EDT: Jeremy -- Vanguard: Saga of Heroes Jeremy is like a kid in a candy store when he logs into Vanguard. He'll be running around on his level 16 Dwarf Rogue, babbling about all the things he loves about this beautiful MMO, and probably dying a lot. Good times.
	Thursday, 7:00 p.m. EDT: Jeremy -- Perpetuum Jeremy hops into the cockpit of a giant robot to show off this sandbox MMO. OK, technically he won't be inside the robot, but he'll be piloting it in Perpetuum. Tune in and have your questions ready for this classless MMO that lets you mine, produce, and fight using skill points you can gain even while offline.
	Thursday, 3:00 p.m. EDT: Justin -- RIFT Throw on your favorite fedora and join Justin as he goes rift-chasing through Telara! He'll spend an hour or so hopping between dynamic events and hoping for an epic invasion to blot out the sun.
	Friday, 8:00 p.m. EDT: Jeremy -- Runes of Magic Join Jeremy for some more PvP action as he heads back into the battlefields. This time around, he's trying to get into the as-yet-unstreamed Karros Canyon, Visdun Fortress, and Windrunner Race, but other battlefields are sure to be open.
	Sunday, 8:00 p.m. EDT: Brandon -- Star Trek Online To boldly go where where even we have never gone before! Join Brandon and a few friends as they check out the recently released Remastered Episodes and their new rewards. Loved the The Original Series episode with the Doomsday Machine? You won't want to miss this Livestream of STO then!

It's so strange, but even though it's a great game and i see so many comments on so many forums saying how wonderful vanguard is and how they love it and then it has so little players. Having said that i logged in yesterday and Telon was on 'medium' population which i don't think it was on before.
Vanguard seems to be the most talked about game that only a few play. (which is actually a good game... so im not counting alganon)
So come on people, join VG and help breathe some life into the game! People say they won't join if there's no devs, but if more people join THERE WILL be more devs.

You have to remember that there's a LOT of players that have come back to all of the Sony games because everyone was given a free 45 days. So the population in Vanguard is going to be at its highest right now. After the free time runs out, however, there's no telling how long it'll be before everyone takes off again.

There's many people playing for the nostalgia value, but there's been no changes to the game for over a year. Unless something massive happens to it, Vanguard isn't going to retain all of the players it's picked up.
