If it's not hellishly hot enough for you outside, T3 Entertainment is here to inject a bit more fire and brimstone into your weekend courtesy of Hellgate's closed beta. The first phase of testing kicks off Friday June 3rd at 7:30 p.m. EDT, with a wrap-up scheduled for the same time on June 5th.
The new and improved Hellgate boasts additional content from the previous iteration of the game, and players who have snagged beta keys can check out either the multiplayer aspects or the single-player campaign (as well as elements of the older Hellgate: Tokyo expansion that are now included in the new version).
Head to the official Hellgate website for more info on the game and the beta.

I'm excited for this. I loved playing Hellgate before. Had a Max level 50 in multiplayer and was on the path for better gear when they turned it off.

I wish that were true but did you play Mythos right before Flagship shutdown and then try the new Mythos from the Asia company? It only went downhill with the year of development. I had high hopes and was happy to see both games coming back, but after playing Mythos Beta with Flagship I can honestly say all the talent went down with the Ship.

Well, Flagship's Mythos was a co-op dungeon romp, the Hanbitsoft Mythos is a full on MMO, but you're right, they don't have the same soul that the original developers had. Hopefully as they are only adding to Hellgate, rather than rebuilding it as something different, they can maintain what we loved from it.

Actually the final days of the beta with Flagship turned Mythos into a MMO with large open worlds. No different than what Mythos is like now except the open world areas were more polished feeling. Us beta testers loved all the last minute changes that really showed off what Flagship was about to do.

Better question, why should NA give this game a chance? We used to have access to this game remember then they took it away. They burned bridge before they even got here. They shouldn't get NA business.

@(Unverified) This is a joke right? Your statement would have some ground if it was Flagship Studio that was bringing back the title. Flagship Studio is the one that failed, the sold the rights to HanbitSoft after the servers closed down.
HanbitSoft is bringing back an old title and this time it's free two play, if anything they are "building" new bridges not burning them.
Honestly do you feel the same way about GamersFirst who are bringing back APB, because it's a very similar story on that end.
Personally I like the idea of seeing old titles return as free two play and while it will most likely never happen I would like to see the same thing happen with Tabula Rasa. It's was a good game but more worthy of a free two play system in my opinion.

Played the original Hellgate:London from launch to close, even tried out the Hellgate Revival mod for singleplayer and over the weekend spent a few hours in the closed beta for the Hanbitsoft game.
The "new and improved" Hellgate has all the turkey shoot in a sewer flavor of the original from Flagship Studios and remains a hella fun.
Regards,
Bede
