Its not that much of a rumor. One server merge already happened about a month ago and this server merge is already scheduled for this week. There has been an official announcement about the merge.

Link the announcement and I'll be happy to include it. I couldn't find anything in English unfortunately.

@Kitanishi Yup, also they posted a time table for the merge when the site was up. http://images.hangame.co.kr/upload/coregame/TERA/homepage/notice/20110530_newserver.jpg

Simply put: Server will be June 2nd (today) and lists the 35 servers that will become15 after the merge is completed.

Second round?

I didn't even hear about the first one. How many bloody servers did they start with?

@Nebhatesyou They started with 37, merged down to 35 (ya WTF is up with that?), and now they've merged down again to 15. Game's only been out for a few months (launched 1/25/11) and they've already closed down more than half their servers. At this rate they'll be down to like 4 servers when it finally hits the West.

Removing just 2 servers? That is rather strange...

They deserve it. They launched horrible incomplete, like STO incomplete. They didn't even have the final leveling content done and had to launch at lower then level cap and then raise the cap in a few patches, again like STO.

Besides I can't take this game or its fans seriously. It's failing in Korea, a Korean game. Why are there people that think it will fair better here in the west, a sphere which has typically been resilient to Korean games.

Agree 100%

Because its 'new'? I was a fan of this game until I started to hear more and more bad news. Also, I don't trust En Masse for the life of me. I don't care who the team is made up of, but taking a mediocre game then 'Westernizing' it doesn't spell success no matter how they slice it. If I were them, I'd just with no monthly fee and an item shop that exclusively sells costumes and things like that.

This game isn't generating any buzz outside of the hardcore MMO fanbase. I would imagine that a nice portion of that hardcore fanbase will try it and then a nice portion of them will give it up in no time. Unless this game ends up being the best thing ever, I doubt it could truly be called a success. And to be honest, I don't imagine this game generating enough subs over here to stay afloat for long.

From my understanding Koreans are not heavy into action type games as we are here in the west so I wouldnt let that make you think it wont fair well here.

Similar situation here. The use of "Westernization" has fast become a big red flag for me. Valuing the opinion of ineffectual marketing focus groups over the actual opinions of potential customers pissed me off a bit. En Masse disregarding the opinions of many of the early Tera supporters in an effort to entice potential console gamers (gamers who generally despise the subscription MMO model) raises a few concerns in regards to how they plan on handling the NA release. I'm not a big Rift fan, but I do like how they listen and respond to their players, and I really hope other companies will learn from that.

Their only focus (imo of course) should be on streamlining the process for implementing patches/updates as quickly and seamlessly as possible; and preventive measures to deal with bot's, hacks, gold spammers, etc... ...I think my reply went off topic, but I just don't want Tera to become another disappointment due to an incompetent localization team.

Hearing bad news about the only video game I am looking forward to for the foreseeable future is depressing.

I just cannot get excited about this title, apart form the awesome graphic it seems very boring imo, none of the classes featured so far is making me want to play the game.... I don't know

You are actually right. The only thing really in this game is graphics and nontargeting combat. Otherwise its basically aion if it was released 3 years too early...

Its plagued by unbalanced economy, faulty maps, broken monster ai, balance issues between classes, forced-grouping(after 20 almost all monsters are elite), HEAVY lag due to the nature of the game and faulty coding, as well as constant server and game crashes.

How bad is economy? Let's just say the game is RUNNING OUT of digit count for item prices :)
