Big things are afoot in Earthrise, which is now going worldwide as publisher Iceberg Interactive has launched the English language version in all territories. To tempt players into giving it a try, Iceberg's digital launch will be offered at a hefty 40% discount, bringing the title to $29.99.
Even bigger than that is the news of Earthrise's first free expansion: Territorial Warfare. This content update promises to double the size of the current game world and will let players take over territory, build bases, and fight against opposing forces. These bases can even provide players with resources to further expand their power.
The price drop and expansion will apply to European boxed copies as well. The boxed versions also include a map and poster.
Masthead Studios has been pursuing aggressive updates and fixes to the game as of late, and with the expansion there should be plenty of additional content for players to enjoy.
[Updated: Changed the price to reflect US sales price.]

Course Direct2Drive is selling it for 20.95 at the moment, not that I advise this of course.

That $43.20 is the USD converted price of European Union players. The US and other areas paying through USD are being charged $29.99.
And as already said, Direct2Drive has the game for $20.95, although for some reason it's on preorder (release shows 10am PST today, but it's not out yet).

Earthrise is being sold for $29.90 USD on their main site.

So if it's 40% off, the normal price is about $72 USD?

@Interitus LOL I was thinking the same thing, reminds me of some of those sales you see that the original price is increased and then the sale marketed as a hot deal.

Still no trial period?
If a MMO launches without an open beta and refuses to include a trial period its a pretty sure sign that even the company thinks their game isn't up to scratch.
I'd love to try this game, but I'm not going to pay for something that looks like a disaster.

Dont pay for this... The best thing it can offer is a world to explore with good graphics... but that's all...
Well...some people like crafting. but that's all.

Hmm, territorial warfare was one of a number of features that was supposed to be there and they left out at release. And now it is a free expansion?

Forced PvP or PvE-friendly?
Forced group or solo-friendly?
What's the price in sterling?

This is not PvE friendly. The PvE is currently rubbish.
You can solo but you will get attacked by other players (it's open PvP with full loot).
The game could be amazing but I estimate at least another year before that happens :(

Another prime example of how the Sandbox isn't a viable business model.
Even EvE is backing away from it.

@Dunraven
I don't know if sandboxes are truly viable or not, but the main problem seems to be all of these poorly-funded and disorganized indie companies making sandbox games that give the genre a bad name.
Earthrise, Mortal Online, etc. seem to follow the model of slapping together an empty world with a few mobs and a crafting system, calling it a "sandbox" and charging full price. Not surprisingly, there's not a huge audience of people who want to support that kind of model.

@(Unverified) you hit the nail on the head buddy! I want a good sandbox with the production quality of WoW / Rift.
My perfect game right now would be Rift Gameplay/PvE + Aion Fort System + Massive world. Massive fields/forests/deserts with nothing in them are OK people... Seriously, BIGGER WORLDS! (And throw in some housing system too, non-instanced OFC!)
