Still over-priced.

Waiting to see how long STO and CO function now that Cryptic is all alone with no financial backing.

@Dalrint
Yes.
So basically you can add this to your current account, it will cost you $3.75 and you get 30 days of gameplay included.

@Loopy

No you cant the free 30 days is ONLY for new accounts. If you add it to a current account it does nothing.

@notinterested

You mean to say that when I bought an STO game at a store not too long ago that my game time didn't add to my existing account when it actually did???

Sorry, they stack.

@notinterested They stack, but only one of each "version". I did this over Christmas when the digital regular edition was $2.50, the digital deluxe was $5.00, and the collector's boxed was $7.50 (all on Amazon). 90 days of gametime for $15.00.

I'd say $3.75 isn't a bad deal for the game + 1 month of play, considering I was able to easily experience the entirety of the Federation side of the game in less than 1 month and make a serious dent in the Klingon (which is still woefully underdeveloped). Think of it like a single player game with a lobby - because it basically is.

Sad, because I literally logged in three times in months two and three just to check out the Featured Episodes.

$3.75? and the guys at Cryptic still deny there is anything to worry about since Atari liquidated them.

While it is fun to bash on Cryptic, this is only a sale - which does not indicate the fate of the company. A lot of MMOs will do it, even if they are not failing

@GaaaaaH

While it's only on sale, it's normally only $14.99 a year after it came out. It's a crapshoot, honestly.

Was in the Beta from day #1, which isn't saying much considering they opened the Beta only 4 months prior to it's launch and took absolutely no advice from the testers. It was horrible, missing tons of content, and all they did was add on to the cosmetic (missing many key parts of the game that are needed to make a Star Trek game). When did Klingon content get tested? 2 months prior to launch. Was there much content to that side? Laughable at best.

Overall, anything that Cryptic has touched outside of City of Heroes has been poo. They're touch is the opposite of King Midas.

@tooright It was $2.50 at Christmas - this is actually a sale-price hike!

EVE has been on sale for $2.50 before.... They aren't going bankrupt.

What people should understand is that the more people they have playing their game, the better when it comes to sell the company.

I enjoyed the heck out of my time in STO, it really is a lot of fun. The roleplay stuff is amazing, and even if you just got the month out of it you'd have a blast.

Buggy? A bit. Unbalanced? Maybe, but who cares...it's called a challenge. The ships and exploration are a blast. And the customization, of course, it AWESOME.

I enjoy STO from time to time too. Though I still regret the two life times I have from Cryptic :(

@Beau Hindman Exactly, I finally checked this game out last week and right now I'm having a lot of fun. I'll admit there's bugs, and npc AI and overall ground combat still needs work, but it's a fun game.

Personally I feel that at this point in time the game's lifecycle the bashing is unjustified. With the recent patch for this game just yesterday, I can tell the team is really putting their efforts into their product and trying to rebuild their reputation.

As someone who in the past bashed Cryptic, I can honestly say, people need to stop listening to the negative hype and just check the game as it is in the present. Whatever issues where in the past seems to have been fixed at least from my view point because from my gameplay experience so far it's been fairly smooth. And before anyone asks I'm already a Rear Admiral just after a weeks playtime, it's not that long, and the storyline pulls you in enough that as a player you don't even notice you're leveling.

That's all I gotta say, Cryptic, I gave you a crap load of hell in the past, but hey you proved me wrong on STO, props to you. Just don't screw up again.
