So... the graphics made you go O.O, the models b '.')b, but the playerbase makes you go >.

"Anime-lovers love their drama. They can hardly stand to type out a sentence without emphasizing it with some sort of >.< or :3 -- although I have no idea what those mean."

I feel like I've just been put into a stereotype for using those emotes. ~_~

"Ooone of us... ooone of uuuus... one of uuuuuuuuuus :3"

Just kidding. Remember a 100% of anime lovers use facial emotes, but not all facial emote users are anime lovers.

@DevilSei Thats not 100% true, either. Love me some manga and anime, but I absolutely detest smilies and internet lingo of almost all kinds. The only exceptions are those that keep you from having pronounce to the whole group that you have to go take a dump, like "BRB" or "Bio-Break", and even then I only break them out when I am really in a rush.

@ClassicCrime

To be fair, I'm only really fond of something I call, the monocle.

@_o, or other minor variations of it.

@DevilSei

I learned an "I am not amused" face in some off-beat corner of the MMOsphere. I reserve it for bad jokes and spammers who run amok in the comments section. :|

That, my good man, is not how one performs the monocle emoticon. o_q

This was a very nice article! I thought the (humorous) list of pros and cons was handy, but when you write about a game that has been translated into English, do you ever mention the translation quality? On a personal level, one of my final deciding factors of sticking with a free to play MMO that I try out is the quality of translation. Maybe Lucent Hearts was translated well enough for you not to take up issue, or maybe a fair bit of mis-translation is to be expected from games not originally in English. Either way, it could be worth mentioning.

Gah, the post I was replying to got deleted.
Now my "sex leg" comment seems even lost in space.

I think the game is nice, but it is more socialization oriented than for example Iris. The character builds are mainly done by class and tweeking the powers from zodiac sign. However, the classes have some interesting characteristic for not saying really flashy names and skills. I wanted to try the solar guardian but I quit the beta before getting even close to the class change level.
Iris is also pretty animeish but still keeps some interesting features in the character building.
I have also had to agree with the reviewer about the whole matchmaking. It also creeped me out but I guess it is how this games work.

What's wrong with Emotes, eh Beau? ಠ_ಠ

But there is def. a type of person on the ol' interwebs that WAAAAY overuse SUPER KAWAIIDESU ^__^;;;'!_!

Emotes are useful to convey emotions the way words can't at times, but ever other sentence does not need them. Anyway, this game reminds me of ROSE online which I enjoyed alot, but not enough to try this. I'm busy picking up LOTRO!

So this game is about 12 year olds falling deeply in love? I don't get it.
