@FatCheeseMan

How so? For or against Warcraft? or Rift? Too much for Guild Wars 2? What exactly is it biased against?

I think you mean where he say:

"chances are that Blizzard's Real ID system will have more perks than just simple cross realm play.......The way these two companies are going about it speaks to their philosophy: Blizzard may have you fork over a few bucks, but they build deep user-friendly systems for their subscribers and make sure everything is solid and fun before they're ever released to the public. Trion is giving the masses what they want for free, but it sounds like there won't be any bells or whistles attached. But hey, I guess you get what you pay for."

Yes, that part is completely biased after a 2nd watch through. It's overly single-sided for Blizzard while bashing out Trion's service saying that it's cheap and frill-less.

And, the problem that Casey doesn't understand is that Trion's server transfer option does come with several perks. Whole guilds can go to another server, taking their Guild Rank, Perk Points, and Quest progression with them. And, to have it once weekly for free is of itself a perk.

However, where's Blizzard's bonuses of this system? I'm not seeing them. From his own statement they're assumptions only. And from the announcement found here: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/2548785589?page=1 it's for Real ID friends to basically do cross-realm dungeons (similar to the LFG tool, but not random groups), and PAY FOR IT!. That's it. It's not like open world grouping or questing, it's just a paid version of a LFG tool for specific people that are on other realms.

To paraphrase Tom Lehrer.... the gamers hate the SLifers, the SLifers hate the gamers, the Trekkers hate the Furries, and everyone hates the Jews.

We're so busy trying to distance ourselves from people who are "weird", we forget that to the broader culture, we're ALL weird. And yes, this includes everybody on G4. Sorry, Morgan.
