Hmm...I guess they are playing smart just putting the CQ's out first, and waiting on the public stations, but just having a room and corridor feels a bit lacking.

@Raikulxox "...and it will bring about the official deployment of Incarna's *first phase* to EVE's live server."

"This is only the first step of many that continues EVE Online's progress..."

@paterah You must be new to CCP's development practices. It goes like this:

1) Release a half implemented feature
2) Ignore it for years while they half-ass the next feature set
3) Re-implement the entire thing after years of moaning by the playerbase

Another feature to languish for years like COSMOS and factional warfare...

@Raikulxox Which is quite obvious. Continuing, I didn't quite understand the "lacking" part since this is the first release.

@Raikulxox. Massivley readers aren't known for their comprehension skills. Just dumb fanboys that mark down comments and make dumb ass comments to defend their game.

funny how people slobber over a bunch of shallow, useless content. i'll start taking ccp seriously once they balance ships, and fix FW and 0.0. as far as i recall, most people started playing EVE to pew pew with ships.

Actually, I started playing EVE because it was my best bet to be immersed in a world (or universe.)

And this, to me, represents the reason why I never take people who are "killers" seriously. All you do is whine whine whine. If you want to blow shit up go play Bad Company 2; but I'll take my stupid shallow crap that adds to the immersion rather than LOL LAZORS PEW PEW that petulant brats are enthralled by.

/end rant

I with you 100%.

Eve has never been and will never be just about combat. It is about creating experiences for many groups of people. If your experience happens to solely revolve around combat than I'm sorry. There are people who want more from the game and as much as you want CCP to cater solely to you, it's just not going to happen.

petulant brats? you mean 50% of EVE's population? you know, the ones who pvp, the ones who drive the economy and give purpose to everything? the game is horribly unbalanced; there hasnt been a reason to go into nullsec for years, and FW has become nothing more but a shadow of its former self with the carebear pve additions.

EVE cant retain players because only a small fraction plays for RP purposes, like yourself. EVE's subs go up each expansion and come back down once players realize that this game has no "meat".

I hate to break it to you, but there's no point in doing anything in a game (or your life, if you want to be cynical) because none of it will be preserved or maintained for infinity.

This is the entire attitude I thought I'd leave behind by going to a true sandbox; rather than feeling a NEED to do anything, I'd rather do something for the hell of it; because, hey, in a sandbox anything is viable. Instead, I get the usual whiny crap there being no point of doing activity X. The themepark's there for you, go on, chase the carrot. Chase it because it's a goal and it's there for you. It's ultimately unfulfilling and leaves you with nothing tangible for all that chasing, but if you want a carrot, go ahead.

I'm sure the sand won't miss you.

Also: yeah, I'm sure all those people manufacturing goods and flipping the price differences between Jita and other regions are REALLY bothered by ship imbalance in PvP.

first of all, here's a towel for all that foam coming out of your mouth. relax. i didnt mention or question EVE's sandbox-iness. but now that you bring it up, LOL u think EVE is a sandbox? it stopped being one many patches ago. did you just start playing kid? all wide-eyed, full of wonder and stuff?

@Unverified

PVP crowd is at least half of the population. but it has been decreasing due to the addition of brainless carebear content, and pvp hasnt been touched in a long while. i mean, im not complaining in any way. i left when all this Incarna BS was announced and when i saw where EVE was headed. theyre trying to chase subs, but until they improve the core of the game (scheduled for this December), subs will not be retained, Incarna or not.

But CCP is was enthralled by the prospect of unlimited pew in their original vision for eve as a cold and unforgiving place. They only added concord and high sec because too many people who didn't "get" their original vision started playing and complaining.

In fact in the old days it was possible to gank people and tank concord until more incessant whining led to concord's current inception. Yet CCP is still unwilling to remove gank from high sec completely (see suicide ganking and can flipping). They are willing to be crowd pleasers up to a certain point.

And why should they remove the prospect of pew from the average joe player's eve life completely? A universe full of people grinding missions and trading in peace would simply be predictable and mundane. As much as you dislike pvpers they add a "human element" and a bit of spice to an otherwise dry universe full of missioning and mining guides.

I have no objection to PvP and PvPing as a form of play; so long as it's balanced against the other aspects of the game. It's more my frustration at the general attitude of PvPers across all games that's evident. They are, by far, the most needy, whiny, aggressive (I think Captain (Unverified) here has proved that point) and general impolite group of people in my experience, and, frankly, I think their incessant whining and hatred has ruined the reputation of many games that by and large deserve another chance to impress players.

That's all, really. If you want to blow shit up to the exclusion of everything else, I can't see the point of playing an MMO.

I think there's a universe of difference between "remove combat altogether, everyone holds hands and dances around vomiting rainbows" and "it's nice to see some gameplay that's not entirely centered around combat, because some of us like to do other things."
