What about Oil Companies?
Banking Industry?
Pharmaceutical Companies?
Microsoft?
Apple?
General Electric?
Political Lobbyists?

Not to poo-poo it, but with these other worse offenders, you must be sick every nano-second of your life. ;P

@Space Cobra

is this blogging site about any of the thing you listed by any chance?
does it bother you that people dislike greedy gaming companies?

how sad that people will pay $175 to attend an event by a company that got lucky with an MMO. Or even worse that they charge $40 to watch it from home. Don't they make enough money but to charge for live streaming? pathetic. I'm sure sad people will sign up for the live screening though.

@xuiton But its even more sad that people WILL actually buy them. I remember back when I played (I quit in July of '09), Entire Giulds would make the trip, and people would PROUDLY talk about it in Trade Chat like they just had a Child...

I'll also go as far as to say that 175 bucks is the least that some of the Basement-Dwelling-Shut-In-Geeks with no lives will pay. Check EBAY a few days after they sell out.

Did they also get lucky with Warcraft, Warcraft 2, Warcraft 3, Diablo, Diablo 2, Starcraft, and Starcraft 2?

Where does luck end and talent begin?

ok I realise that sounded stupid. What I meant was, the majority of WoW fans that most likely have not played or heard of blizzards GOOD games before WoW. I do not doubt for a second that the nerds who fork out this kind of cash will most likely be WoW freaks.

*does not play wow, doesn't care much about blizzcon, does think the tickets are expensive, content to leave people the hell alone*

Common guys sheesh, get over it. Blizzard does WoW, Starcraft, Diablo and they just do them the way they want to. Some people like that and they do this to treat their fans. Get over it, get over yourselves and just enjoy it for what it is.

I dont get to go to these things but I enjoy watching the panels on youtube just to see the new things and maybe some insight into design decisions.

Usually companies pay big bucks to advertise a product to customers. Somehow Blizzard has found a way to get the customers to pay for the advertising. It's amazing...in a creepy, cultish kind of way.

Got tickets for the third year. We got lucky(ish) and got 12 this time. I don't know why people are so angry about this event. It's a nerd event...we are nerds...do we really need to have a "which nerd is better than...which OTHER nerd" pissing contest?

Really, $175 dollars isn't a lot of money to drop for a 2 day pass to be around people you enjoy.
