Capsuleers attempting to log in to EVE Online today will be greeted with the familiar "new build available" popup. Yep, it's patch day, and CCP is updating Incursion to version 1.5 (although it's only a 16-megabyte download, so you won't be out of commission for long). Nonetheless, the update does bring some significant change to New Eden.
As we told you earlier this week, agents are getting an overhaul, as are associated connection skills. Another helpful bit in today's patch is the new visual differentiation between blueprint originals and blueprint copies. Onboard ship scanners have had their ranges extended to 64 AU, and of course, the changes to jump bridge-capable ships are now in effect as well.
There are a few more tweaks courtesy of Incursion 1.5, and you can read all about them via the official patch notes.

Being one of those people who love EVE but just can't play it, I keep up with articles and such, and it seems like lots of players don't like this patch for some reason, and that they are not on good terms with CCP altogether.

@InkSix The jumpbridge changes make moving large fleets quickly difficult in nullsec. Basically, it's changing the face of war... again. I have no opinion on whether the change is good or bad long-term, but it's going to shake things up in the short.
As for being on poor terms with CCP... it's a history thing. CCP is trying (and succeeding, if slowly) to win back the trust of the player-base through better community interaction. But old habits die hard, and a lot of old-guard players hate on CCP out of tradition at this point.

A lot of people rarely like patches, because patches bring change, and most people find change frightening. Haters gonna hate.
From my perspective, this patch brings a lot of good change, and I'm looking forward to getting in my pod and checking them out!

No it doesn't and no its not. So now we have to go one jump between bridges, whoop-de-doo. Its still easy, the systems with the bridges are empty most of the time anyway. If anything it might allow for easy ganks going through the stargates but thats about it. Once you start filing in with large numbers the potential gankers tend to run away.

Because some people find Eve fun even without the PvP elements

BecAuse all ive ever wanted was to be a business tycoon. I wanted to make lots of money buying and selling things, have my own big mining corporation and maybe end up backing some other corporation with finances. To be honest, I don't really know if I could have done that, bu on my way between jobs for agents, which were always combat and didn't want to do, I was pk'd on the way there or home.
After a few times feeling little a struggling noon with nothing I could do, I stopped playing. I think I did 40hours. Mostly skill time tho.

@InkSix Were you in a corp for protection? A good corp would have your corpmates backing you up and going after those who pk'd you.

We bitch about small things in every patch, but we eventually deal with it and move on ;)

It's a huge project to work on at this point, I'm willing to cut CCP some slack because of that but there is just so very much that needs improving.
Good thing I love the game regardless, plenty to do while waiting for the annoyances to be fixed... or for new annoyances to be introduced, heh.
