The LFG tool is a little buggy, but I've used it several times successfully. And because it's not cross-server, I've already been placed in groups with repeat members, so I get to know them better! Yeah, one time I happened to get in a group where I swear 3/5 of the group didn't know how to play for crap, but I guess that comes with the territory. Also, I love the wardrobe feature. My only gripe is that weapons can't go cosmetic yet, only armor (although I did just get this great mask with devil horns that I plan on wearing FOREVER).

Runes of Magic has a similar phenomena. I really like the LFG tool it has. It's slightly awkward to enter stuff in and that may be its downfall.

Apart from that, it's a nifty little tool that I would love to use over and over, but no one ever uses it.

Was it something I did or can I only que as one roll? I tried to roll support as bard as well as dmg but it didnt seem to want to let me do that.

I hope it's just something I did and Trion really didn't make a 5th soul for multi specing just so I can only be just ONE of those roles. :-/

@Beltyra
You have to actually switch to each role at least once for the LFG tool to recognize them. I only had damage unlocked on my cleric, now I got all 4 unlocked.

I came back this week after 1.2 dropped (they added in just about all the goodies that I was wishing for) ... Started a new Defiant since I was only lvl 18 when my 30 day pass expired last time ... So, I jumped in ... not playing a ton b/c of time limitations this week. But so far, on the Kelpmere Shard, I have reached lvl 9 and I have seen a grand total of ..... 3 other players.

I had never played RIFT. I had no interest in it and thought it was just Warhammer 2.0. I had grown very irritable at WAR because of its badness--yes, its badness--and did not want to go through that again.

So I picked up the RIFT trial when I heard of it, with a few friends, just for kicks and giggles. I did not expect exactly what I got.

The rifts themselves are enough to keep me interested, but on top of that -everything- is better than the typical MMO. They did -not- reinvent the wheel, oh no. They, instead, just made the formula better. I'm okay with this.

I am only level 27, so I can't say much for end-game, obviously, but everything I have experienced so far has made me say, "Thank god this isn't WoW! I'm so glad I have a great MMO to play again!"

Huzzah!

"I finished Abyssal Precipice and enjoyed the little twists and turns of some of the scripts, like the fight in which you get turned into a rabbit and chased by a pack of wolves."

I believe you mean Hylas in Greenscale?

As for 1.2, it brought a lot of good changes, but definitely over-nerfed the dungeons.

@Eldan

They sure did...as a healer, T1 dungeons have been reduced to mashing buttons 1,2 with the occasional 3. T2 seems to be a slightly less difficult than what the T1s used to be.

I was pretty disappointed to discover that.

The LFG tool indeed does need some work, I think there might be some issues with the min/max levels you need to enter instances. My nightly group is a tank/healer/dps so we queued for an instance with this group and sat for a long time without popping. We finally just did it old school, got 2 more deeps and ran the instance we were gunning for and the next higher one.

I think the issue was that one of the guys was 5 levels below us, so he did not qualify for the instance we wanted to run, and we were too high for the ones he did qualify for.

Now that we got him up to our level we are finding that we get the same people in instances over and over again, so it actually works great for meeting new people, contrary to what Karen implied and is what is normally expected of a LFG tool. We have yet to have an issue with a player from the tool and we have made some acquaintances since the same people keep getting queued with us.

======================

I have not played with the costume armor, but I have made heavy use of the wardrobe feature by buying vendor armor that looks cool, dying it to match my color scheme and throwing it in the wardrobe slots. It is also much cheaper. Now when I am rolling I first look at the stats, and if its not an upgrade I try it on. If it looks cool I roll on it =)

The LFG was needed. Now if we can only get people to actually use it or expand it more to multi servers (I don't think they have yet).

Right now I have que'd during multiple hour play sessions only to not have it pop once. Sure I'm DPS or support but you would hope it would pop EVENTUALLY. (Don't want to tank an instance I have never been to TBH)

Game is still great looking and fun, but it tends to get awfully quiet with no chatter. It's not that people aren't there, it's just so solo friendly and casual friendly leveling that people just do their own thing and group for rifts and then go about their business.

Been playing since Beta and still recommend people to try it out. Def worth a 7 day trial if you are on the fence.

They already have cross server system for PVP, but I don't think they're gonna do that for PVE, or at least I hope not.

It takes like 2 minutes to manually form a group, you can friend list people you had a good run with you know. I got like 15 friends online during peak hours that are all ready to do instances + the people in the level 50 channel + the people that have muted that but can be reached through zone chat.

Tinkered around with the wardrobe feature at a guildies BBQ and they screwed it up. I mean how hard is it to copy a feature from EQ2 since Scott worked there.
I assume they made it that way so the PvP kids would not get confused by mages wearing plate and come running to the forums to ask for nerfs. The whole point of that feature is to look the way YOU want to reguardless of class/spec etc.
Buggy LFG was exspected but the constant nerfing is insane.
