It was the same on Defiant, although since we were not that many on red-side fighting the invasion, it was fairly ok as long as we stuck to our side of the fence.

But when they urged everyone to go to Praetoria for a counterattack, then all lag broke loose. I did have sub-minute activation times on powers for a little while though..

They sent back everyone to the red- and blue-sides after a short while, I assume they figured out that it did not work out. But by then at least half of everyone that had joined had left for other things.

It should not really come as a surprise - everytime we have the Sunday evening Rikti Mothership raid it can be pretty bad, if they track things like that they should know.

The event did indeed suck. Would have been better if they just had random invasions for a week round the clock like say rikti. Spreads out the lag.

Got me all vaklempt for old style Hami raids though ;-)

@Tempes Magus

While I fully expect a lot of people won't be able to get the badge when the event runs on Freedom, the way they've described it you don't actually have to participate to get the thing, just be on the server when it happens and you'll get the account-wide badge.

From their official announcement:
"You don't even have to stick around and fight off the Praetorian invasion: logging in during the window will grant the badge, and you can log out and go back to your home server. But maybe if you stick around and get into a group, you'll help reach the goal and have some fun at the same time. Imagine seeing more versions of Atlas Park than you have ever been seen before!"

So yea, still going to be annoying trying to get the badge, but not nearly as bad as if you had to participate in the event to get it.

I experienced the event on Defiant too and the lag wasn't the worst thing. Because we know by now that "The Lag" is a key component in such events and no surprise :)

What made me squirm was the counter-invasion part with the assault on the Keyes Reactor. Of all things, the dev playing Ms. Liberty played her as a Science Controller.

Ms. Liberty. Science. Controller. UGH.

And then came the borderline inane exchange of words between Ms. Liberty and Praetor Keyes which made Spider-Man's one-liners look like work by Shakespeare. I don't know if that part was improvised but calling it "weak" would be flattering.
