Basically a month and a half of game time absolutely free, and i didn't suffer during downtime, since i wasn't playing those games anyway!

The thing is it is not the best way to deal with account security. There have been a lot of accounts the were hacked where the hacker actualy slipped an authenticator on it. So in the end it just becomes another risk.

I ran into trouble getting back into my account and wound up having to call customer support. According to the web page, they're only available weekdays and even then would have been shut down an hour ago.

Sony has the lines open and apparently will continue to do so all weekend. Not only that, but there was ZERO queue. After I pressed 5 for password issues, it didn't even get to ring before someone had picked up.

Of course, the Sony detractors will probably still find a way to make that sound like the company's evil. :p

Even though I didn't have an active subscription for EQ2 when the hack occured, SOE has reactivated my account for 45 days. So if you are curious, take a look and see if any of the old games you purchased is active now.

Yeah, I noticed this too. It is nice, every SOE game I have is active. But really SOE should be marketing that perk...

@Zantom

Dude, if SOE did market it the internet would erupt with SOE flames for taking advantage of their customers.

@Tempes Magus

The second time my WoW account was hacked, the hacker put an authenticator on it. It didn't cause any extra trouble getting it removed though, and they let me keep the pet. :D

I keep getting internal server error when I try to reset my password.

Typical SOE

Probably because there are a few million people trying to do the same thing at the same time. I would be surprised if the account servers were *not* offline every so often today.

I haven't played an SOE game for over a year now, just logged into my EQ2 account and I have no extra days : ( Same for SWG.

It says I must subscribe to continue playing... Perhaps its not every account?

@Vistrix

It was either a bug or those people who got full access logged into an account on one of SOE's F2P games recently.

I know I have full access to Eq2X. I haven't tried EQ2.
