Was hoping for the JC video honestly. I just don't view the SI as an actual "Jedi/Sith" they're far too dependent on their magical fireballs. Everytime I see one my mind just farts out mage.

I prefer the JCs equal mix of force and saber.

@Vagrant Zero

Specced for ranged dps - ie Jedi Sage -> dps tree, the Jedi Consular is as much a mage as the sith is. If you don't believe me check out their skills @ http://darthhater.com/2010/12/15/jedi-consular-impressions/page/5/

@Vagrant Zero Well duh, because mage is the archetype they're based on.

@beskar Well no shit. I just don't like thinking of Jedi/Sith as pure mages. That lightsaber is more than just an interesting shaving apparatus.

@Vagrant Zero

Here's some feedback on the lightsaber's usefulness from a Taral V player:

"And my husband the Consular…well, he stole the show. He was a ranged-damage dealer, but was also shocked to see himself do decent damage with his lightsaber as well. Not great damage — but it wasn’t as pathetic as you would expect from, say, a Mage swinging his staff. So he delighted in the fact he wasn’t completely helpless if any loose mobs got in his face. "

... so take that for what you will.

@hereafter Yup, that's exactly why I'l be going Consular. Unlike the SI, even the "ranged" tree (Sage) still makes use of the lightsaber. But I see we have some dress-wearing SI lovers in the crowd who didn't take kindly to me calling their class out. Truth hurts. :p

Just when I thought force powers would be no big deal I am suddenly sucked into the concept of playing something with force powers besides a non force user such as the Bounty Hunter. :) Really nice.

Not too bad! Very Emperor-like rather than the wow-mage I half expected. Not sure about the colour of the lightning or giving sith force invisibility though.

@TheGreatMachine

It's not invisibility, it's manipulation of your mind through the Force so you don't see her.

/wave hand and do Jedi mind trick

@Jade Effect Yeah its in a sense telling your brain to forget/erase memory of the Sith, making Sith invisible for the brain and by extension invisible to that person.

Didn't ridiculous shoulder pads go out of style at the same time as leg warmers?

@mmark Nah it's ""A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away" so everything that is out of style is back in. *nods*

Force Unleashed! Looks like a fun alternative to all saber key-spam. AFAI-could see there was a nice balance of force and saber kick-assed-ness.

Is it time to start getting excited for this game? That looked really cool!

The shoulder-pads were certainly reminiscent of the over-the-top WoW-gear, and the eye-glow, also... Just too much...

Love the glowy-eye effect going into stealth!

Still wishing they could work some of their facial animation into these in-game sequences (combat, not just cutscenes). Some angry expressions to go along with the lightning bolts would be excellent, even though I know we'd rarely glimpse it while actually playing.

This video was overly biased towards jedi force users and it will definitely throw off the balance of all classes and TOR will fail...

Sorry, my keyboard was haxxored...man I love that video. My two classes I will play are Jennifer Hale and Sith Inquisitor.

I'd like to hear how Bioware plans to balance the class so it's not crazily overpowered. Crowd control, plus good ranged and good melee damage sounds overpowered to me.

@Taawa

Well, no need to balance a single player game...
