@Beltyra

Yeah, it's almost embarrassing that they keep lifting things from WoW and trying to spin it as their own.

@(Unverified) Yes because the general term "horde" should be used exclusively to WoW.

Show me other games that use the term Horde.
Show me other MMOs.
Show me other fantasy.
Show me how after "We're not in Azeroth anymore" and now this aren't flagrant relations that a marketing team isn't trying to tap into people's subconscious.

Gimme a break.

@Beltyra Give me a break indeed.
Horde –noun
1. a large group, multitude, number, etc.; a mass or crowd: a horde of tourists.
2. a tribe or troop of Asian nomads.
3. any nomadic group.
4. a moving pack or swarm of animals: A horde of mosquitoes invaded the camp.

If Rift comes out with an add tomorrow stating; The faceless man wishes you to join his band of mercenaries and defeat xxxx, join this alliance today!

OMG THEY USED THE WORD ALLIANCE HOW DARE THEY! Sheesh, horde is a commonly used word in the English language. I didn't like the Azeroth campaign either, but honestly, to go shout OMG COPYCAT with every word that is tied to WoW is just ridiculous. Equally ridiculous is the fact that ever since the Azeroth campaign, every WoW player and his dog feels a need to come comment on every Rift related article or blog post to give their two coppers on how Rift is WoW.

I play both, I enjoy both. Sometimes a word is just a word, not some big evil conspiracy.

I don't really like either game but it's no secret they're both competing for the same piece of the pie.

So you just rate my comment down but didn't actually read it eh? OBVIOUSLY it's a word. Thank you for pointing that out to us all. And are you really that ignorant to believe Trion marketing team didn't pick that word specifically??

It's not if it used, it's HOW its used. And how it's used in the advert seems quite like a shot at WoW; "Join OUR Horde" not even "Join the Horde" or "Join the fight" or "Join our Fight" or "Join our Resistance" but "Join OUR HORDE". It is a definite shot at WoW, plain and simple.

Excellent argument, good sir. How could I have missed such a large hole in my entire thesis! Thank you for your enlightened knowledge of all things, and I am a better human being for having shared in your vision.

Horde is indeed a word, used to define a large group of people, animals etc. I don't see how that is anything belonging to WoW, it's just as generic a term as saying "Join our Legion", or "Join our Swarm", or "Join our Throng", etc. Maybe if Blizzard is so bad ass they might want to think about getting copyrights on words in the English language like "Alliance", "Horde" and maybe while they're at it they can sue the crappy band Hammerfall for having the same name as a town in Arathi.

You are absurd.

That is because Rifts (like the rest of the game) are insanely boring.

Grinding rifts gets old in minutes. They are essentially all the same. And then when you aren't doing Rifts but want to quest, people open Rifts on your questing location making all of the mobs/NPCs disappear so you are screwed till you close the Rift.

If anyone is on the fence like this article suggests, do yourself a favor and run away from that fence. You will spend as much time enjoying the game as you will downloading it. After the first 15 minutes you've seen all there is to see. Everything is a task like every other task or a rift like every other rift.

I am of differing opinion, in that I think rifts and invasions are the best part of this game. Most of the time I think they are not brutal enough.

Trion just had their first "Blizzard/Activision moment" with patch 1.2.I subscribed for 3 months and I think Rift won't get any better or any innovative. They turned the endgame into a grindfest,no matter what Trion do or advertise players will end back in Azeroth.

Damn you ArenaNet,I can't wait any longer.
