Back in 2008, EVE Online developer Arnar "CCP Zulu" Gylfason started a forum thread in which players could ask him literally any question about EVE and development at CCP Games. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with Zulu answering over a hundred questions on topics ranging from nullsec warfare to ship balance. As part of an ongoing effort to communicate more with the EVE playerbase, the devs at CCP have decided to revive this old habit with a brand new Q&A thread.
If you have a burning question on anything related to EVE Online, you can post it in the question forum thread or on the official EVE facebook page. Questions will be posed to a think-tank of developers consisting of senior producer CCP Zulu, lead game designer CCP Hammerhead, producer CCP TomB, senior programmer CCP Tuxford, community developer CCP Guard and senior game masters GM Spiral and GM Lelouch.

My only question would be to get any info about World of Darkness, but that's a different division.

Agreed. I know they can run around in the game engine/world or w/e at their offices, and it looks beautiful from what I've heard; hell the videos they showed us looked beautiful.
I don't care about space ships or stars having wars with each other, gimme some WoD info.

When does Dust 514 come out and for which console(s)?

@HokieKC
You do know that is not an "EVE question", right?

You honestly think they're going to give you a release date based on a forum question? Keep dreaming.

That guy with the sunglasses makes me want to go play with EVE's character creator so much. What a badass.

@Irem The badass guy with the sunglasses is CCP Hammer :D. I'm more a fan of CCP Manifest's avatar in the middle.

Everything about Eve is right up my street and I’m sure I’m not alone when i say this but I’d love to be playing Eve but, the one thing that continually stops me from actually buying and subbing and this is the same for several friends is the tutorial and the UI.
The tutorial is a slog, the start game is boring and uninteresting and there’s not enough of a hook to get you into such an immersive world, it needs an exciting story and engaging quests with meaningful results, remember were gamers we want to play for fun and enjoy what time we have and some of us don’t have 24/7 to sit in front of our monitors..
Next up, the UI is horrendous and this one is mindboggling awful, its unscalable or tweakable which in this day and age is unforgivable. Now i play on a 1080p laptop and the text even on largest(joke) is pretty much unreadable so that’s me out before I’ve even started and to be honest the whole thing looks like something used to control a nuclear reactor, its newbie unfriendly and a complete and utter put off.. the game badly needs a newly redesigned UI, but give the vets the option of keeping the old one
Basically the game needs a starter/newbie overhaul, I and many more like me don’t have the time or the patience to sit and learn and slog and fight tooth and nail to get into a game these days, were not asking for the game to be dumbed down all were asking is you make it accessible to people who play games for fun

Apparently the starter portion of the game is getting some serious attention soon.

same old problem. i get what you're saying, and i'm sure it was true for your experience. but the fix is easy: find a (good) corp. find someone who started in the last 1-2 years and ask them what to do, coz there are many options, even for a 2 day old char.
the advanced tutorial agents are pretty fun tbh, epic arcs are quite awesome if you're into space stories, and give you quite a lot of isk, there's PI which requires a couple hours of training to get into it. if you're a carebear, train one day for a destroyer salvager and tractor beam, hook up with a missioner and salvage the loot. and then there's pvp. dunno about a 7 day old char in 0.0, but i've been in low sec fleets many times in which a week old chars were scouts and did a good job at it.
please don't be offended coz it's not what i'm saying, but the problem is with you as much as it's with the game. sure, the game could be simpler (which has a toll on the sandbox, but whatever), but you and many more mmo gamers could be more social. make friends, talk to people, ask questions. find any group of people that can tell you what's important and what isn't.
and truthfully you are asking for a dumbing down of the game. if you don't have the patience to learn the game at a steady pace and instead ask for simpler mechanics, well that might seem trivial to you but it changes the game a lot. if you only had one type of dmg, or turrets didn't have falloff or tracking, well that would take most of the fun out of the game for most current players.
tl;dr either you're playing alone, with a**holes, or the game is not right up your street. try all the real possibilities that a one week old char has, and learn to use the UI at a steady pace that's ok with you. most people in game are very understanding of noobs, help and don't expect pro skillz
google "eve learning curve" and play the 3 week trial if you think that's worth it ;)
