@Puremallace

um no sweetie...

4. Dye your pvp and pve armor

lol ever heard of Ultima Online?

6. 10 man raids that are not just recycled of 20 man raids

i don't even know where to start with this.

everything else you mentioned is cosmetic and does not affect game play. also, you've never heard of tumblr? obviously things take a bit to soak into your brain brah.

@Puremallace Yeah, the big surprise is that rift is sinking faster then those games.

Out of the 40 or so people I know who left to try rift from wow, all 40 are back in wow with a canceled rift sub. With AoC it at least took a few months.

Rift is the same as the other FOTM mmo's, but with its lack of real content it is sinking faster even then most.

I played through most of the beta invites and nothing in Rifts was really better than what I had or could be doing in WoW so I didn't follow it through.

A good thing is that competition will improve the market. I believe that threats like Trion will push Blizzard to add new stuff; even now - remote guild chat, offline AH access, new encounter mechanisms (have you seen the Firelands stuff so far?), these things make busy RL peeps enjoy the game even more. For me the consumer, its only win-win.

For those that like Rift - stay there. Make Blizz pay !!

I am waiting for a real threat from the Sci-fi side - I have a soft spot for WAR40k.

As a player of both WOW and RIFT, I don't get most of the comments here. WOW has more endgame content? I guess, if you consider endless repetition of the same dailies, dungeons and battlegrounds to be content. It only takes 2 months to finish RIFT? I could say the same for WOW. Again, endless repetition doesn't count as content. What WOW has going for it is player base, maybe lore, whatever that really means and friends developed over years time. What RIFT has going for it is better animation quality, non-cartoon characters and well, it's new, with new quests and areas to explore. After developing 7 end gamers, there's little left in WOW considered new. Rifters return to WOW? Doesn't surprise me. WOW is easy, casual, a walk in the park. Rift is HARD! After an hour with Rift, I switch to WOW to relax. Is one better than the other? Depends entirely on what you want from a game. I consider both better than the other in some ways but not all ways. I do know one difference between WOW and Rift. I don't even know how to suggest a change to WOW. Rift actively solicits comments and has already incorporated one of my suggestions. Cool. Now if I could only succeed in getting guildies to switch...
