.... Go artificial intelligence... Emphasis on the artificial I suppose.

In other news, I need to get myself to play Rift again. It'd help If I actually knew anyone *else* who played it, though, and I think the server that I had picked is relatively quiet, or at least last I checked.

@Triskelion I'm not certain that's the case, though. I think that everyone just moved up ahead of me. Not really the thing that stopped me playing though - I just can't pick a bloody class and stay happy with it long enough...

I like Warriors conceptually, but I had survivability problems. I liked the Riftstalker, but had the same issue sometimes. Justicar was survivable, but kinda monotonic, basically spamming two or three abilities and relying on passives. That and I like swords... Who knows, I'll think of something eventually. knowing me, I'll make a warrior, play it to 12, then feel like maybe I'd prefer something else...

@Octahedron

My Son had same issue, liked Rogue but died lots, liked Tank but it was boring.

I am having fun with an AOE DPS Cleric alt. It can be a bit seat of the pants, but when 4 mobs your level die at the same moment it is awesome!

@Aenedor You can do the same with a Rogue. Spec Bladedancer and watch 6-8 mobs go down at the same time with ease.

I have been enjoying the game so far and am impressed with the speed the developers have had in creating these patches. Has everything gone to their plan? Not really. But I am willing to stick with them at this point because they seem actively engaged with their own game.

Sure, some of their features are similiar to other games on the market, but I would take a MMO that recognizes innovation and adapts it to their game any day. The only strange thing about this game are the trolls that creep out of their basements whenever a new article is posted. Server merges? Unlikely considering how well they are doing for a previously unknown company with a title not based on an already established IP.

For all the trolls out there: I like Rift. I play Rift. I will encourage my friends to play Rift. You can stop now. You just look silly.

@Oskari

I said the same about a month ago. The the server became a ghosttown and alot of shortcomings became obvious for the endgame content.

Game needs more work - maybe 6 months down the line? Who knows. My fear is that the devs are over the top with their patches - pushing out stuff that isn't needed (appearance armor?) and ignoring other that is badly needed (merges and transfers - guildbanks - class balancing focus).

I feel we have another Warhammer on our hands. It launched land of the dead that was great content - just didn't fit into the game at the time and killed future development cause it became so obvious that ppl were just not intrested.

@Deadalon

It could turn into another Warhammer for sure, but I am hoping it doesn't. The game has a lot of potential. 6 months from now we should have a better picture of what to expect. Right now it just feels too early to say for sure.

Just got my Dragon Slayer title and 110% armored mount, about 5 days from Iron Pine glorified... chasin' Rifts, helping the guild to earn levels, earning epic gear.

Yep, I love this game.

I haven't really had many complaints with RIFT. I personally have experienced no technical difficulties or anything since head-start began. It has been a very enjoyable and hiccup-free experience for me so far.

Got my cleric to 50 after gearing my rogue up to Tier 2 content. I decided to try another server out as the motivation for rerolling, and glad I did. My original server, Emberlord, was healthy enough to prevent me waiting too long for groups or anything, even as a DPS, but the difference in the economies is noticeable.

One of the things I dislike so far is the auction house. Prices drop below vendor price more often than not, any certain items just don't have the demand you figured they would. I suppose a lot of this comes from how easy professions are to raise, and maybe that needs to be looked into, but in terms of content, I am still enjoying myself.

Hit up Greenscale 4/5 and ROS 1/5. Not the furthest along, but I also don't have to sell my soul to make progression. I am enjoying that aspect a lot, while the content can still remain challenging enough to not bore me immediately.

The game has more problems than trying to balance the very weak classes. I quit over the outsourced customer service, its total garbage, and the last time i checked right before i quit there were still massive threads on Trions lack of CS support on their forums.

With a title that has no focus as to what it wants players to be, i give examples of players wearing 35 plus buffs (no debuffs) and healing out the ying yang, as the biggest reason(s) folks are leaving, coupled with lousy CS why stay? Why be like everyone else?

Most likely because you can only stay competative if you do that. Take the OP exploits classes that raged to the top of the pvp rank 6 charts using known power builds in under a month, sad stuff, of course i realize they used perfectly allowable in game tactics and........*cough* skill.

Maybe if they had seperated the pvp and skills to be only useable in pvp and pvp skills in pve the game would have been better suited, dropped allowable buffs and debuffs to say 3 to 5 each, self cancelling as the stronger buff/debuff overwrote it, right now the imbalance and mass use of only a few souls that do heavy, stacking healing and dps combos are all that are used, a few brave souls (i was one) trying to enjoy the challenge of using lesser used souls, the taste however was to bitter to pay these misguided devs any more of my cash. (sigh and a smile)

@Graill440

"I quit over the outsourced customer service, its total garbage"

You quit over customer service, then go on a rant about how the games sucks....
Quitting over customer service may be the dumbest reason I've read for quitting a game, are you serious?? Get over it.

Since you quit the game why do you come here? To 'warn' others? To try and recruit others? To hope you find sympathy? To set the record straight and let the world know what You think?
A heads-up, no one cars what you think about Rift except others like you that hope it fails... a nice little club of MMO whiners that helped make WoW what it is today... a game so screwed up by whiners and those who "know better' that players are leaving by the 1000's, all hoping another new game will not be the same old crap, not the same group of whiners who just keep getting angrier as time passes that a game is Not changing to suit them... that they can't order devs to make the game They want, so they show up here, to whine some more, until they destroy the game's reputation.

A clue... when your life has reached the point where a GAME has risen to the level of religion or politics, you should stop and think... am I an idiot?

@(Unverified) I lol'd truthfully here.

I'll admit, I never have, or have any interest in playing Rift, but these goddamn MMO Doctors with thier Doomclocks are just unbelieveable...

If you no longer play, or have any stake in the game, who gives a shit why you quit?! I surely don't. And Im sure many others feel the same way.

Just %$^& off back to whatever cesspool you were in before, because it's pretty obvious which one it is in most cases.

Enough already.

My understanding is that Graill440's complaints can be summed up to perceived PvP shortcomings, though it is obvious that RIFT is meant to be a PvE game at its core, with PvP tacked on as a side attraction (just like almost every single theme park MMO in existence). His top gripe seems to be that he can't gank people with impunity because "healing is too good."

I think Trion has made it quite clear through their actions what their focus is, and it isn't PvP.

Should be "pve skills only in pve" not pvp skills, excuse that.

I'm still loving rift and doing zone events. But npc AI really needs to be improved.

There's this zone event in Droughtlands where you have to escort some refugees to Lantern Hook. Unfortunately, the refugees are as fragile as tissue paper, and like to charge into combat. On my way back to LH with some refugees in tow, I ran across a bunch of planar invaders attacking a wardstone, and of course, my charges died like ants being stepped on. Level 1 refugees vs. level 41 elites -- you don't need a calculator to do the math.

They need to fix warriors leveling 1-45 its very difficult compared to Rogues, Mages and Clerics who have self heals.

They NEED to focus on balancing the souls.
