Honestly I think I would have preferred the 6th year mini thing but I'm 2 years out from a 6 year old character anyway so it's a moot point, I hope to be playing GW2 before any of my characters hit the 6 year old mark. I totally forgot about the high res textures though.. I'll have to futz with that today.

I applaud all the work ANet is doing for their customers with regards to GW. I've only been playing for about 2 years and am an ultra-casual player. I still haven't gone entirely through all three campaigns and I think my HoM is sitting at 6/50. Nevertheless, it's a great game for its age ... good enough that I haven't gotten past beta in most other games because ANet just does things better (IMO) in GW. Plus, you can't beat the $/hr for the experience.

With regards to the improved textures... are there any before/after pictures floating around? I enabled the feature but can't tell the difference in the few outposts I've visited.

@yeppers

The textures are for the players and their armor in outposts, not the outposts themselves sadly.

And technically, Galrath isn't our first lvl 40, the Moahawk from the April Fools joke was also lvl 40, and might of actually been a sly little hint towards what we'd end up facing.

That new HM Quest is a brutal, I'm very impressed with how it was designed. I especially liked how Anet LT hid all the classes under the Bandit skin. You have to figure out who's what and that was really the challenge.

I have to agree with you, at also thought that tonics replacing minipets would go badly and sure I've met some people that don't like the idea, but as it stands most are happy with the change. In a way I wish it would give party points though, you play for 6 years and all you get is a tonic that doesn't give you title help kinda bums me out.

@Seldra

I have to agree.. the tonic should provide points toward the title, even if they have to make them non-tradeable to justify it, after 6 years I think they've earned a gimmie.

It's not that bad, as is the case with any huge cluster, Panic is your best friend. I wasn't specially prepared or anything, but careful pulling (from below the cliff so that they can't hit you with anything -Thankfully, they have no elementalists nor mesmers) works pretty well.

Rubi, did you realise that most of these new tonics can be used in explorable areas too (when fighting)?
