It might be a case of in-house talent poaching or just a good opportunity for all parties involved, but BioWare has hired Jeff Hickman away from Mythic to be Star Wars: The Old Republic's new Executive Producer of Live Services.
The hire was announced at the recent BioWare's Fan Site Summit, according to Ask a Jedi. Hickman was previously the Studio Executive Producer for all of Mythic's MMOs. He'll step into the role left open by Gordon Walton, who left BioWare earlier this year.
With both BioWare and Mythic under the same parent company -- Electronic Arts -- it stands to reason that the two studios have a strong network and relationships that could lead to such transfers of personnel. We'll look forward to seeing what Jeff Hickman will bring to TOR as it progresses toward launch!

Seriously BioWare won't put up with an BS. They just don't. With TOR they will snap their fingers very quickly if the same inner office BS occurs in TOR as it did in WAR at the upper management level.

Okay, I don't know this guy from Donald Trump or one of the cooks at a Hot Dog chain down my street, but I'd probably have to go over his decisions beforehand. He was one of two exec producers, yes/no? And there were good among the bad in Warhammer; we all liked it until we got into the highest RR ranks.
Also, the game is pretty much done in terms of game mechanics; it's in Closed Beta Testing and the game could come out either sometime this year or next (if things go real bad; and that may be a clue if he demands changes too much).
Plus, he's Exec Producer of "Live Services", what exactly is that? The guy that keeps subs and cash shops running? The guy who oversees live events on servers? None of these seem too core to the game.

@Ehra
Mark was in charge but he was busy with a lot of other things and towards the end of development he had family medical issues. It is also rumored he was kept out of the loop on a lot of stuff.
Jeff Hickman is basically one of the main guys that made WAR what it is. People were promoted, got big heads, thought their visions were the best and ignored everyone else's thoughts.
This in a big way impacts my decision to buy SWTOR.

Does Bioware not understand how hated and loathed this man is after what he did to WAR?, Even more so after what EA Louse said and Tweety more or less confirmed? Whats next will they Hire Carrie Gouskos to come up with snappy Ad campaigns (Like Killin Sith in da face?) and to basically pronounce TOR as a FFA PVP game?
The only thing worse would to be to Hire SOE to distribute the game. What in the hell is Bioware thinking? They just basically killed a license to print money, because no one in their right mind will ever trust this guy.

I've noticed that certain subsets of Bioware in the Dragon Age 2 era have this philosophy of 'Screw what the fans think, we want CoD's audience!11!!' and as such will go for whatever option promises the most 'awesome'.
Maybe this guy gave a pitch with like...explosions, or tigers or something, and it was so 'awesome' that they just had to get him on board RIGHT AWAY, fans be damned.
We'll see how well that works out for them.

It's a questionable PR move. He has alot of bad history with the MMO community over Warhammer Online, regardless of how much was truly his fault.
However it has been said for awhile that people from Mythic were being pulled to BioWare to help develop TOR for awhile now. This is just the first big name to get pulled over.
WAR had ALOT of really good features. It also had alot of poorly thought out features. In all honesty once we get close to launch of TOR the hype train will take over and no one will care who worked on this game, they will just buy it.
