So .. should we judge AOC on launch day too ? I mean ... 2 years.....2 months ... 2 weeks... What diffrence does it make?

@Deadalon dude you are such a troll. I know your name by heart because all you do, in all of your posts, is mention how RIFT is crap. Your last posting has talking about how so many people are leaving it and yet there are still a lot of queues. You can find a way to reference RIFT by talking about peanut butter and jelly....stop it, dude...

@The Minn

There are Qs on some servers - others are pretty empty. Thats called population imbalance. You fix that by allowing character transfers. We now know it will not happen in patch 1.2 that is out early May.

That means that TRION is ignoring the biggest issue the game has atm. Its on the same scale as Warhammer max exodus where over 80 servers went down to 6 in less than 2 years. And the main reason that it happened in WAR is because the developers did not react to things that were happening.

The real danger with RIFT right now is that this population imbalance is affecting the gameplay for alot of players that are just starting to play. Bad experience this early means ppl will not bother in the future. So the time is running out for TRION.

Doom doom doom.
Hear that sound? It's the sound of the kid yelling wolf.
Man let it go. I understand why you are distressed about the signs of 'mishandling' from Trion but it's not truly, really (look deep inside yourself), representative of their future.

Trion will be a game of 10-12 worldwide servers at most. That its not my estimation. Its the DEVS goal of of 250K subs. Thats nothing doom about that - its just the fact that it needs to be packed together on fewer server. And it needs to happen fast cause right now players that want to progress are unable to cause of lack of other players to play with.

The problem with AoC, as you say, is that there's not much to do outside dungeons/raids.

And that's why I left WoW, because there's not much to do that's worthwhile outside dungeons and raids. AoC also suffers from the fact that pugging normal modes in Khitai is nigh-impossible, and to top it all off, on Crom EU, there's so many people from so many nationalities that finding people who communicate fluently in English is kinda hard.

Sadly, it's not worth a sub atm, which is a real pity, because I love the game and wish it well. But until extras are added or it goes f2p, I can't see myself playing it much.

Nice try, Funcom, but no matter how many devs you hire and no matter how much content you add, you will not lure me away from LotRO until you match their F2P payment model. Do that, and I will definitely try AoC.

I like the game, it is the only MMO I have played all the way to max level. My problem is I have played all the content, so I don't logon much anymore. End game content, ie dungeon raiding, or beating each other over the head in PVP isn't why I play the game. I played it to experience the Conan universe, hacking and slashing my way through Hyboria, digging the really, really, cool job the devs did bringing Howard's creation to life. The music, the combat ( as a barbarian I had a blast with those fatalities! ) grouping with other players, and questing, following the destiny quest. It was (is) a great game for someone who loves experiencing the Conan IP as a video game.

I started playing for my first time only months ago, after the expansion was out, so I had all the current content to experience at once. What a treat! Playing through the PVE content of AoC was among my greatest gaming times. Every time I sat down with the game I enjoyed it... for months! I don't think there is another game I have spent as much enjoyable time with.

Glad to hear there are more devs on board and the game will continue to expand. I would love to see a level cap increase with more Conan adventuring to do. There is a lot of original material available yet to tap into. As long as this game is alive and well I can see myself dropping in for some Conan goodness. No matter to me if it is FtP or sub, if the content is there I will check it out!

I bet we hear about an expansion this fall. And we return from the east.

@Lateris

There was already talk about that. Something like Funcom's western team having done the eastern-themed xpac and an eastern team doing a more western upcoming pack. I don't think there was any timeline mentioned though.

Deadalon, have you considered taking up fly fishing, golf or some other hobby? You clearly hate pretty much every computer game you play and despise every developer who makes them, and whilst you express the occasional positive comment about Eve you must assuredly hate it as well because it's a subscription game and therefore the work of the Devil.

Not for the first time I wonder why you devote so much of your spare time to a hobby about which you have so few (if any) positive thoughts.

@Seffrid

I have alot of positives thoughts for many games - both MMos and others. I will continue to point out the weak spots of games. And I also continue to praise those games that do things well.

Sadly - AOC has not done alot of things well. So any person is always gonna struggle to name positives other than graphics. But even in terms of graphics they managed to screw it up and launch it without a feature that was said to be in the game - acording to the box.

Actually I do alot of flyfishing =) But thx for the suggestions.
