Stunning video, just fantastic. I have mixed feelings about the Charr (that ALL BADASS ALL THE TIME, WE SPEAK IT ALL CAPS attitude annoys me), but that city was a sight to behold. I can't wait!

Now bring on Asura week!

@jealouspirate

Agreed about the Charr voices. I can't imagine myself growing fond of a race made up entirely of the generic OOORAH FURRY MARINES character.

Hey, they may surprise me, and the steampunk-industrial nature of the race really, really appeals to me. We shall see.

What i love the most about the Charr coverage is that they are showing them to be more than brutes. Honestly to build such marvels requires a good level of brain power placing them closer to the level of Asura in terms of intelligence when compared to the other races. Still I don't think I'll play one just yet. Waiting to see how the redesigned Sylvari will look as they were my pick for my first character.

@jealouspirate bah who says just because your a "badass" and carry a big stick means you have to type in "ALL CAPS"? didn't get that from the video or the coverage of the race at all and I don't we will see in influx of those types of players in GW2 because of the Charr.

@Unshra

The 'all caps' thing was just an expression. I mean they have very loud personalities, a "we are awesome because we can beat you up" type of culture. Chest pounding, spikes everywhere, etc. They even love whiskey! I mean, so do I, but it seems like Anet went out of their way to make every single thing about them to be "badass". Pile up too many 'badass' cliches together and it becomes less appealing, to me.I just prefer playing races that don't always take themselves so seriously.

Ultimately their design is still awesome!

I want to drive one of those things at 1:13 of the video.

Rrrrraaaarrrooom! Heading 200 years into the future was a fantastic brainwave, so much industrial fantasy steampunky goodness.

The soundtrack unabashedly rips off the Isengard industrial theme with the heavy use of brass and percussion though. I guess it is fitting, but it's just an odd LOTR echo in there.

Funny I thought it sounded an awful lot like Conan the Barbarian from the 80s. Guess thats where whoever wrote the score for LotR stole it from

Nice to see them moving, but where are the in-game female models?

They're there, in several spots.Its just that the differences between male and female charr are very subtle, which I think is one of the best things Anet has done with their races. Look for the more busy tails of the females, and backwards facing horns. I love the norn so much, but I'll definitely be having a alt charr...if not several!!

@Space Cobra There have been screenshots of them before. You may not have recognized them since they have no boobs. =p

The females are pretty easy to recognize though. They don't have as many giant fangs sticking out of their mouths. The charr towards the back in this screenshot is female:

@Space Cobra

When Massively played the GDC 2011 demo they played as a female Charr. Video is here:

As Unverified said, the differences are pretty subtle. Mostly seems to be the heads and tails that are different, with the rest of the body being more or less the same. They look pretty awesome to me!

@Eamil Ah, I may have misunderstood if you were asking where they were in the video. They were in there though, but yeah, they're harder to tell apart at a glance.
