Don't be scared! Today's One Shots is a fantastically dark screenshot from Warhammer Online -- a game that we definitely don't get to see too often! With dark, jewel-toned mist in the background, it looks like this nasty beast is ready to pounce on the unwitting traveler. However, thanks to the handy link Xpander sent us, we understand that this fellow is quite solidly frozen -- at least for the moment. Xpander writes in: "I did some exploring around the world and bumped into a huge cavern. This location is known as Frostshard Prison."
Have you taken a tasty screenshot while you were traveling through different MMOs? There's no point in letting those pictures sit dusty and neglected in your screenshots folder. Use them for the powers of awesome by emailing them in to us here at oneshots@massively.com. Be sure to include your name, the name of the game, and a description of what we're seeing. We'll post them out here and give you the credit.

Looking for lairs and other hidden objects in WAR was one of my favorite parts of the game. It was really disappointing to spend hours searching and finally figure out how to open a lair, kill the boss and have him drop nothing or garbage. This is an awesome mechanic they needed a better reward system. Once you realized that the only way to get good gear was by spending hours and hours running around pvp zones in a huge mass watching the same people win rolls over and over and DE the gear you desperately needed the game lost much of its appeal. Anyone know of a game that has an interesting hidden things mechanic?

Very nice screenshot! I really like WAR for what the game is, but it's certainly got its problems, I don't deny that.
I guess it's like having a favorite crazy aunt: you love her, but you know something's really not right, and you wish she'd just get her shite together before it's too late ...

You know what I feel like playing right now? An MMO about tanks. If only there were such a game. Of course, there would need to be some advertising for that kind of game.

WAR has one of the best features from any MMO and that was the ToK system with achievements, unlocks and endless stuff to explore. I spent most of my time just trying stuff out from the ToK, I left because of the shitty gear grind at the end of it.
My fondest memory is the 'hidden' portal that would take you to random places in the world. The Chaos Winds is what I think it was called, had random places from development. It is in IC.

@Cruor Angelus never though the ToK was that much appreciated. it was quite appealing when the game was released but I guess I am ignorant and did not realize how much more to it there was? anyway...hope you are enjoying the game =) It died for me awhile ago but it is always nice to hear people still play a game that is often shunned. I play Fallen Earth and it seems like not many people do. I would go back to AoC if the community was better. For now RIFT, and newly-raiding WoW is taken up my time.

.Being a WH: FB player I have to say that WAR was the biggest let down for me ever. that the IP was handed to a group of people who really could give a damn about the property was bad enough but there instance on making it Counter Strike with swords is unforgivable.
Bioware has basically put the game on Life support and I truly hope they give it a mercy killing in the next few months. The good news is Vigil games has already promised that WH:DM will actually have a comprehensive PVE game as well. Here is hoping Paul Barnett and EA games stays as far away as possible
